Today, January 24, 2024, all participants were expected to gather in the starting point. Pessamit is an Innu village of about 3,500 inhabitants located in the Côte-Nord region. The finalpreparations are complete, and the organization will check if everyone is in order throughout the day tomorrow.
The First Nations Expedition consists of 56 indigenous and non-indigenous participants, including myself. We will be blazing the trails over the next two weeks to convey the message of reconciliation among peoples. There are also six members of the support group and 11 others from the media and Air Medic who have joined us here today.
All these individuals are eager to launch this Saturday. But before departure, several ceremonies and festivities are organized to highlight the event.
I will keep you updated on the progress daily.
Keep track of the First Nations Expedition in real-time through the event Website.
