ToggleToday, February 8th, my report will be brief. The First Nations Expedition departed from Maniwaki around 10:30 a.m. in extremely unfavorable conditions. Despite this, the weather was beautiful (almost too beautiful). The trails around Mont-Tremblant were superb.
Our arrival in Saint-Michel-des-Saints was met with a festive atmosphere. Many people had been waiting for us for a long time as we only arrived at 10:30 p.m. So, we spent 12 hours on the trails… phew!
Unfortunately, some participants (3-4) are leaving us here. They don’t want to damage their machines any further.
A reception was organized by our host city. We only had dinner at midnight and went to bed at 1:00 a.m. Fatigue is at its peak for most participants and for the snowmobiles as well. Some mechanical work will be necessary tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow, it’s the off-road part of the First Nations Expedition. We’re heading to La Tuque.
