Unboxing CKX Snowmobile Gear: Titan AMS Helmet, Yukon Monosuit & More

I’m fortunate this year to be trying out a complete CKX gear lineup. It notably includes the all-new Titan AMS helmet, which I was very eager to get my hands on. The setup also features a Yukon one-piece monosuit, Colchester Pro boots, and Alaska leather gloves.

CKX Titan AMS Carbon Helmet with APEX Dual Electric Lens

I covered the unveiling of the new Titan AMS in spring 2025 with great interest, as I’ve been a Titan user for several years. I’m therefore very happy to be able to test this new CKX flagship, which, in my opinion, is one of the best helmets in the industry. At first glance, the new Titan AMS feels very light and looks noticeably sleeker than the previous version. The visor is now more aerodynamic, while still preserving the unmistakable Titan identity.

Naturally, the Apex goggles with their magnetic lens immediately catch the eye, thanks to the two quick-release tabs and a design that’s slightly bulkier than its predecessor. A yellow-tinted lens is included with this model. The helmet is comfortable and true to CKX standards, with straps and hook-and-loop closures that are easy to handle. The package also includes, of course, a power cord for connection to the snowmobile, a less bulky nose guard than the one already mounted on the helmet, a carrying bag, and off-trail accessories.

CKX Yukon Scarlet Red One-Piece Monosuit

Over the past few years, I’ve become a real fan of one-piece suits. I believe it’s the freedom of movement and the way body heat stays trapped inside that truly won me over. That said, I felt it was a must to try the CKX Yukon monosuit. With warmer characteristics than the Elevation monosuit, this suit is designed for both trail riding and off-trail use.

On the first try, I noticed it’s a bit heavier than the Elevation, which is obviously due to its more substantial insulation. I love the colour and find the fit very comfortable. Since it can be adjusted at the legs, it accommodates a wide range of rider heights. The thigh pockets use hook-and-loop closures instead of zippers, but the abdominal pockets are huge and very spacious. The collar is well insulated and rises high on the neck, which I really like. Finally, although the knees are pre-shaped, I don’t see any external knee protection.

CKX Colchester Pro Boots with ATOP System

Let’s now talk about the CKX Colchester Pro boots. I’ve tried several boots in the past featuring cable-and-dial lacing systems, so I was curious to see what CKX had to offer here. First off, I really like the overall look of the boot. I also find it fairly lightweight, especially for a boot rated for comfort down to -60 °C (-76 °F). Lastly, the removable inner liner comes out easily.

Unlike many other models I’ve tried, the sole of the Colchester boot feels relatively flexible for its thickness. This improves overall comfort, especially when walking. The dual ATOP systems allow the ankle and foot to be tightened independently.

CKX Alaska Leather Gloves

To wrap things up, I’ll finish with the gloves. Personally, good old leather will always be a top draft pick when it comes to riding gear. That’s why I went with the CKX Alaska leather gloves. With a traditional look blended with modern styling cues, I find the design very successful. The gloves are comfortable and allow for a solid grip on objects and snowmobile controls despite their thickness. The hook-and-loop wrist strap and gauntlet closure make them easy to put on and take off.

Conclusion: A Cohesive CKX Setup, Built for Real Winter

After this initial “hands-on” experience with the complete CKX lineup, one thing is clear: each piece has been designed with a well-defined purpose, without unnecessary compromises. The Titan AMS helmet confirms its status as a benchmark, offering a measured yet meaningful evolution in both comfort and aerodynamics. The CKX Yukon monosuit stands out for its versatility, capable of handling long trail days as well as cold off-trail rides. The Colchester Pro boots strike a convincing balance between warmth, lightness, and precise adjustment thanks to the ATOP system. Finally, the Alaska leather gloves, more traditional in approach, round out the package with effectiveness and comfort.

Overall, CKX delivers a complete snowmobile gear setup that feels cohesive and well suited to Québec winter conditions. It’s a kit that inspires confidence right out of the box and clearly deserves to be pushed further on the trail as the season unfolds.
