It’s time for the holidays! As the years go by, I find that the only presents I get are the ones I buy for myself. Can you relate? Well, it’s not all entirely true, but let’s face it we don’t get near as many.   This year, I got to feel childlike excitement when I pulled up to my cottage here in Montana. Under a layer of fresh snow, a couple of boxes from Kimpex were waiting for me on the porch!   I’ve been eagerly awaiting a CKX snowmobile gear kit to test for the season. I tore open the boxes and tried it all on—to the point I was sweating and ready to get it off! Now, let me share with you, dear readers, everything about my new CKX snowmobile clothing kit!

You peeked! Why I Chose This CKX Snowmobile Gear Kit

When I was a child, I remember looking all over the house for my mom’s best hiding places to get a sneak peek at my Christmas gifts. Be honest, I’m sure I wasn’t the only one. But it wasn’t the case this time! Because Kimpex gave me the go-ahead to pick my own presents in advance! But, what did I choose? Let me tell you:

  • CKX Elevation Monosuit
  • Titan AMS Helmet with Apex Goggles
  • Xvelt Backcountry Gloves
  • Colchester Lace-up Boots

What I Expect from my CKX Snowmobile Gear

I actually have a good feeling about testing this kit. What I mean is that I get to compare all this gear with a previous CKX kit that I still own and love. If you keep up with us, I should have loads of content for you guys to learn about CKX and what they’re all about. There is something really fun about testing different brands of gear. Often, after trying them out, I find that some gear is not for me. What’s cool is that I can gift it to someone who needs it. Trust me, there’s no shortage of that here in West Yellowstone. Indeed, we have lots of people working in the sled industry that need gear. With that being said, I decided to keep my CKX gear last season, and I’m very partial to it for a reason: quality, functionality and progression!

Elevation Monosuit

This season, I plan to compare the upgrades CKX has made to their Elevation monosuit. Click here to read my previous article on this product. It will help you see for yourself the progression CKX strives for and help make your own comparison based on my findings.

Titan AMS Helmet

As for the Titan AMS Helmet, it’s got me stunned compared to my older Titan Air Flow already. First, I can’t help but get excited at the updated Apex Goggles with magnetic lenses. Then, there’s the helmet’s smooth shell design… and so much more! I wonder how it will stack up to my previous CKX Titan helmet!

Xvelt Gloves

And what about the Xvelt gloves? I can already tell you they are an improvement over my previous CKX gloves. Let’s just say I’m a believer in gauntlets without a bulky hand. I can’t wait to see how they hold up to guiding this winter?

Colchester Boots

Lastly, let’s take a look at the Colchester Boots. Right away, I notice their slim feel. I wonder if they will be warm enough. Now, these boots have laces while my previous ones were equipped with the BOA system. Laces over BOA… what will I like more? And, finally, are they durable? My guiding calendar is pretty full, so these boots will be seeing some miles for sure!

Big Ups

Pow pow! I would like to thank Kimpex/CKX for giving me these wonderful Christmas gifts! Click here to visit the Kimpex online shop for a full line of CKX gear and so much more! And don’t forget to set a reminder in your calendar to check back later in the season for the full review of these products!
