The snowmobiling and ATV community is in mourning. On June 24, 2026, Denis Lavoie, founder and president of Motoneiges.ca, SledMagazine.com and InfoQuad.com, passed away surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with illness. A key figure in the industry, Denis leaves behind an immense legacy—both through his work and through the remarkable person he was.
A lifelong snowmobile enthusiast, Denis founded Motoneiges.ca in 2002 with a clear vision: to offer enthusiasts a reliable, accessible, and fully dedicated source of information about their sport. At a time when the Web was still in its early stages, he saw further than most. Under his leadership, Motoneiges.ca quickly evolved from a simple “website” into the leading French‑language snowmobile Web magazine. Over the years, he also launched SledMagazine.com and InfoQuad.com, building a unique media network in Canada.
Beyond being a builder, Denis was a profoundly human individual. Generous, attentive, and always ready to help, he left a lasting impression on everyone who crossed his path. His collaborators describe him as a caring leader, a tireless enthusiast, and a loyal friend. His ability to bring people together around a shared vision was one of the driving forces behind the magazines’ success.
Our thoughts are with his children, his family, his loved ones, and all the collaborators and partners who shared this adventure with him. The snowmobiling world has lost a pioneer, but his influence will continue to guide those who carry his dream forward.
Denis Lavoie leaves behind far more than magazines: he leaves a community, a shared passion, and a vision that will continue to inspire for many years to come.
