ToggleFor the 2023–2024 season, I had the opportunity to ride with Klim’s F5 helmet and Aeon google combo. They both are top-tier products, so my standards are pretty high jumping into this review. After riding in many different conditions, I’m ready to reveal my impressions. Let’s get started!
The Klim F5 Helmet
The F5 helmet feels very premium in the hand. I usually like colourful pieces of gear, but the black on black variant looks absolutely beautiful. It weighs really light at 1,270 grams (without the breath box). It comes with a rather interesting breath box that worked surprisingly well. This allowed me to create a good seal with the Aeon goggles.
The breath box has a funny shape. I found that the goggles didn’t sit perfectly on it, which caused air to bleed through during colder days. I wish it would have had more adjustability.
In terms of ventilation, the F5 helmet features an impressive 18 intake and 8 exhaust vents. None of them can be closed, but this is not what the F5 is aiming for. I have to be honest, I have been extremely impressed by just how great the vent system is. With most brands of helmets, whenever I’d stop during a ride, I’d systematically remove my goggles to prevent any fog from happening. The F5 helmet is one of the few I did not have to do this with. During the previous years, I’ve seen people riding Klim and never ever bother removing their helmet or goggles. I can finally understand why.
One thing I appreciated was the addition of the Fidlock magnetic fastener. I just wish that the strap was a bit longer. It was barely long enough at the longest position. On many occasions, I had a really hard time fastening my helmet and even had to remove my gloves to give me a little bit more dexterity. We noticed that this was caused by the strap being on the longest position, which caused the fastener to not move freely.

The last thing I want to note about the F5 helmet is around the care package it comes with. Klim is really thinking forward and provides the helmet with a travel case and even a spare visor. I think this is really a nice touch!
The Aeon Goggles
The Aeon goggles were a really good fit with the F5 helmet. They provide a good (but not amazing) horizontal peripheral view and what I think is the best vertical one I’ve ever seen. They sit very well on the face for an optimal seal. I haven’t had any fogging issues all season long.
Klim claims that the Aeon goggles feature a “super anti-fog” lens coating, and I agree with it. It appears to be way superior to many other brands at preventing fog from appearing on the goggles.
The other piece of tech it features is a magnetic fastening system, which allows the rider to quickly swap their lens should it ever fog. This is very smart because it allows you to simply pack an extra pair of lenses instead of a full goggle.
Let’s Conclude
To sum it up, the F5 helmet and Aeon goggles from Klim make for a really solid choice if you’re looking for new headwear. They’re not exactly on the cheap side, but you really get what you pay for in that case. I’d like to thank Klim for providing me with head-to-toe clothing for this season.
