2026 Polaris INDY VR1 Dynamix 137: Arrival, Setup and Long-Term Test Approach

Polaris 650 Indy VR1 137 - Dynamix 2026

As the calendar got closer to the first planned rides of my season, my anticipation grew, as did more than a little anxiety. Getting close to Christmas, my new ride had not yet arrived. Not panic, but concern was definitely in the increasingly snowy air. But then, the all-important call came from Laquerre’s Power Sports. Peace and harmony returned, and all was instantly good in my snowmobile world. I’ve enjoyed 38 new snowmobiles in my snowmobiling “career”, and it is the same thing each and every time. Not many more words needed; you already know the feeling!

Receiving the 2026 Polaris INDY VR1 Dynamix

First things first, out of the trailer, a quick circle around the house, a few photos and into the sled shed. Big smiles, making vroom, vroom sounds and hanging off the seat, first to the left and then to the right. After the initial rituals of a new ride, it was time to get to the multiple activities of preparation.

Initial Preparation Before the First Ride

Polaris Accessories Installed

Accessories quickly became the mission of the afternoon. Meticulous installation of the Polaris Ultimate knee pads (SKU 2889889), the Polaris Insight mirrors that nobody seems to like except me. I find them stylish and as reasonably functional as needed, which is all that I need.

Studs, Carbides and Track Setup

Next up, installation of properly sized I Grip Studs for the VR1s 1.6 Cobra track, registration plate, trail pass stickers and Polaris Lock & Ride accessory attachment points.

I chose to start my season with Qualipièces 6″ Adventure series carbides. In the past, I have found that these high quality carbides provide more aggressive control than stock carbides, while minimizing the darting effect. 7S Display Setup and Ergonomics

The next tasks were setting up Polaris’ industry leading 7S Display by customizing screen layout and data to be displayed, selecting initial hand and thumb warmer temperatures and the Bluetooth pairing of my cell phone. I then adjusted and readjusted handlebars and control positions to get them to where I think will be just perfect.

I completed the afternoon’s preparation activities by applying the SledMagazine.com sticker for long-term trial approval, topping off with Polaris VES full synthetic oil, adding spare plugs and belt, and packing my new Burandt Tool Kit and emergency supplies.

Proper track tension, verification of ski alignment and other settings had already been confirmed by the team of experienced professionals at Laquerre’s Power Sports.

I couldn’t resist showing you some special oldies that can be seen right alongside of the newest Polaris Snowmobiles at Laquerre’s Power Sports. Enjoy these very unique pieces of snowmobile history.

Storage Solutions for Long-Term Riding

There are two Polaris accessories that I am particularly looking forward to experiencing this winter. First is the Polaris Lock & Ride Flex waterproof bag (SKU 2890008).

Over the past several seasons, I have had the opportunity to review almost every Lock & Ride storage bag configuration. That being said, a waterproof version definitely sparks my interest.

The other is the Polaris Matryx waterproof dash zip bag (SKU 2889776). I have used a previous model of Matryx dash storage divider, but under deeper snow conditions that I am often fortunate to find, I found it to accumulate snow inside the compartment, making getting something out a cold, sometimes wet mess. This newest version separately zips closed to keep any snow infiltration out of the actual storage area. Really looking forward to this simple improvement.

If you read my 2026 trail introduction article, you will know that the main focus throughout the season will be the Dynamix suspension package of the VR1.

First Observations on the Dynamix Suspension

With just one look at a Dynamix equipped Polaris, you know that you are looking at something special. The high technology of the Dynamix shocks is definitely highly visible.

A particular curiosity that I noted is that the rear suspension rail has a different structural layout that is unique to the Dynamix models. I wonder why, was it always that way since Dynamix was first launched? Let’s put that question on the list of what to find out about Dynamix in 2026.

That’s it for the initial excitement and preparation part of the 2026 SledMagazine.com Polaris VR1 Dynamix’s arrival. I’ve got to get packed up and loaded for the first trip departure on Thursday.

Long-Term Test Philosophy

Remember that I’m the guy that learns and decides what I think throughout an entire season. No glitz, no glamour, no first outing proclamations or determinations. Just “Greg du Vermont” putting on the miles and inviting you to follow along. One of the best parts of my long-term trials has always been the conversations I have with fellow snowmobilers along the way. I hope to see you on the trails. I hope that your first ride is also very soon. Ride right and have your best snowmobile season ever!
