Polaris Lock & Ride Flex Waterproof Bag Review for Snowmobile Storage

Today’s accessory highlight focusses on Polaris’ Lock & Ride Flex waterproof bag. Find it on their online shop by clicking here. With the support of Polaris’ PGA team, a particular emphasis on many of my Polaris Long Term Trials has always been their available Lock & Ride storage options. I’ve experienced almost all available Lock & Ride configurations. For this year’s trail I wanted to put the Flex waterproof bag to my personal real-world test.

Unlike other similar sized Lock & Ride storage options, the waterproof version offers the unique capability to adapt to securely containing various levels of contents. The soft top, waterproof roll up, buckle down design allows the unit to be as expanded or condensed as needed to securely contain whatever you choose.

This roll down design keeps everything firmly in place, so the contents come out the same way as it was packed.

As can be seen in the photo above, when the waterproof Flex in a more expanded configuration it offers slightly more capacity than the rigid top Tall Lock & Ride Flex Sport Tunnel Bag. Click here to view this product.

Capacity is important, but what about being waterproof?

While the capacity of the Lock & Ride Flex waterproof bag was an interesting side note, the real test is about the waterproof function. After all, it says waterproof not water resistant. How many times have each if us endured a little damp, frozen or snow in our luggage compartments at the end of the day? Yep, me too.

I’ve been fortunate to have my 2026 season began with significant snow levels and fresh snow fall conditions. Perfect conditions for waterproof testing.

It’s true, a photo is worth 1,000 words!

Here’s what I have found. In snow dust, deep snow, snow packed running boards and luggage areas, all has remained dry!

What more do we need to know? And if this is not enough of a positive, in the modern word of expensive storage options, this waterproof bag seems to be a particularly good value.

Whether I’m accessing something on the trail or unpacking at the end of the day, everything inside the Polaris Lock & Ride Flex waterproof bag has remained pleasantly dry.

While we are on the topic of waterproof function, I also offer the following

As mentioned in my First Moments article, my previous non waterproof dash dividers frequently left the contents of my dash area storge in a frozen wet mess. Digging out any of the smaller items/tools that I stored in there or accessing permit documents for a trail side security inspection was often ugly.

This year I had a goal for a better more functional system of storage in this snow intrusion prone area. At this stage of my winter season, I have also found the Polaris Matryx Waterproof Dash Zip Bag (item #2889776) to do it’s intended job.  A nice improvement and simple pleasure. Thank you, Polaris!

Ride right, keep your gloves on the bars and stay safe. See you on the trails.
