Inaugural Mountain Sled Fest set for March 21-23 at Tenney Mountain

Weekend to feature Snocross, Hillcross and Sunday Funday classes

PLYMOUTH, New Hampshire (Mar. 14, 2025) — With cooperative snow conditions in recent weeks, plans are coming together for one of New England’s biggest snowmobile racing events of the year. The inaugural Mountain Sled Fest is set for Mar. 21-23 at the Tenney Mountain ski area.

This event will feature a variety of racing disciplines; from Hillcross and Snocross, to a full day of ‘Sunday Funday’ action to close out the fun. Gates will open at 5 p.m. on Friday, with Snocross racing getting under way at 6 p.m.

On Saturday, gates open at 10 a.m. with Hillcross racing starting at 11. At 6 p.m. Saturday evening, Snocross and Sunday Funday classes will hit the track.

Admission is $25 per day or $50 for a three-day pass; children age 12 and under will be admitted free with a paying adult. Racers and spectators are urged to avoid the Melvin Road, there is an alternative and much smoother route (please follow the signs) to access this beautiful venue.

The Tenney Mountain Sled Fest is the first of back-to-back weekends of racing at the beloved ski area. On Saturday and Sunday, March 28-29, a special “Mayhem on the Mountain” event will feature the Adirondack Cross Country series ‘Super XC’ race on Saturday and a Sunday Funday show on the 29th.

“With the strong turnout we had for our first race at Tenney Mountain back in January, we’ve really been looking forward to the Mountain Sled Fest,” X Racing CEO Joe Duncan said. “Response from racers around the Northeast has been very positive. We’ll have more great racing of all types this time.

“On Saturday at 4 p.m., we’ll have out East Coast Ditchbangers in action. Then on Sunday, the focus is on fun for Familyz, Teen and Kidz with our Sunday Funday program beginning at 10 a.m. There is something for everyone at Sled Fest; and our Mayhem on the Mountain will be a great show, as well.”

Teams from around New England were most recently in action at the third annual Snow Bowl up in Presque Isle, Maine. The event, hosted and promoted by Spud Speedway co-promoters Troy Haney and Jim Gamage, was a resounding success. X Racing was proud to be a part of Maine’s big show.

“Our turnout up in The County was strong, despite the distance many had to travel to get there,” Duncan added. “Ample snow conditions, a great track and warm welcome from the community made the long haul north more than worthwhile. That built momentum as we return to Tenney Mountain.”

Skiing at Tenney Mountain dates back to the 1930s. It truly came to life in 1959 when World War II veteran Sam Hall cut and opened the first official set of trails, served by a single T-bar lift. The mountain expanded in the mid-1980s, with a triple chairlift and more trails.

Today, Tenney offers roughly 50 trails and 1,500 vertical feet for skiers and riders of all ability levels.

X Racing officials would like to thank their valued marketing partners in the East; including Southside Sales and Service; HK Powersports, Studboy Holeshot, USI Skis, FOX, C&A Pro Skis, Woody’s, Staging Pro and The Carbide Podcast for their continued support.
