2024 Renegade Adrenaline: Preseason Analysis

renegade adrenaline 2024

This season, I have the opportunity to test a BRP product, namely the 2024 Renegade Adrenaline. My vehicle is equipped with the Enduro package and the four-stroke 900 ACE Turbo R engine, which boasts an impressive 180 HP. This snowmobile comes with the standard REV Gen5 chassis, as well as a 10.25-inch colour touchscreen and the BRP Connect technology.

At First Glance

What immediately caught my attention upon taking ownership was the slimmer and longer profile of the engine cabin. This gives the snowmobile the appearance of a vehicle crafted with high-quality materials. Undoubtedly, this powerhouse will draw the eyes and attention of riders seeking a trail sled. Indeed, it has been designed to cover long distances in all kinds of trail conditions. The 2024 Renegade Adrenaline is poised to deliver both enjoyment and performance to its owner. My trail tests should confirm this in the coming weeks.

I can’t overlook its yellow and black colour scheme, which gives it a beautiful look. There’s just the right amount of yellow … not too much. The two colours blend very well together. This snowmobile will undoubtedly stand out on the trail.

The REV Gen5 Chassis

Last year, I tested a similar model with all components housed on the REV Gen4 chassis. The major innovation for the 2024 Renegade Adrenaline is its migration to the REV Gen5 platform. Needless to say, I can’t wait to embark on my first test ride. I’ve already climbed aboard, and it gives me the impression of being in control. Stay tuned for more updates!

Comfort

The 2024 Renegade Adrenaline boasts the RAS X front suspension with KYB 36 front shocks. The rear suspension is the rMotion X, equipped with KYB 36 shocks. The cherry on top is the rear ACS Suspension, which is pneumatic and adjustable. You’ll agree with me that these are high quality shocks and suspension. I’m eager to go on my first rides, and afterward, I’ll be able to give you an honest assessment of the comfort of this snowmobile.

The Touchscreen

The screen of the 2024 Renegade Adrenaline is very impressive with its 10.25-inch dimension. I was treated to a little “screen 101” session by the technician at Équipements Maniwaki to help me get acquainted with the interface.

When you lightly touch the starter button, without actually starting the vehicle, the screen turns on and displays the BRP logo in bright colours. I will continue to explore the information that this screen provides to the driver during rides.

Once you take control of the snowmobile, your position is perfect for quickly viewing the information displayed on the screen. The control buttons are located on the left handlebar, giving easy access to all functionalities.

The Engine

The Rotax 900 ACE Turbo R engine, with its 180 HP, was very effective in terms of power on the Gen4 chassis. After my tests, I will share my opinion on the arrival of the 900 ACE Turbo R engine on the Gen5 platform. We will see if it positively impacts performance. I will particularly observe acceleration, responsiveness, stability, and fuel consumption.

Premium LED Headlights

Premium LED headlights come standard on the vehicle. This is an important addition for being visible on the trail by other riders.

The Seat

At first glance, the seat appears shorter and less imposing. However, it seemed more comfortable to me, especially since it is heated. I hope to have the opportunity to test it on long rides in cold weather. We’ll see!

Here are the elements I will pay particular attention to this winter:

During my tests, I will mainly focus on the trail performance of the 2024 Renegade Adrenaline. I want to see how the new platform reacts.

Does it meet the comfort expectations of snowmobilers who enjoy long rides? What about its stability? Does it respond well to the driver’s maneuvers? Is the driver in full control? And what about its power and fuel consumption?

I will also provide my impressions regarding the riding position, and the windshield and side panels and the wind protection they offer. I will endeavour to ride in all sorts of trail conditions and temperatures.

I will share my insights into what snowmobilers seek in a sled. My goal is to inform you as much as possible so that you can make an informed decision when purchasing your next vehicle.

I invite you to follow my columns on Sledmagazine.com, where you will be able to read the summary of my tests.

Finally, I would like to thank Ski-Doo and Équipements Maniwaki for lending me this snowmobile, which allows me to conduct my tests.

Have a great season, and stay safe on the trails!
