ToggleI have already talked about the Nimbus boots in a previous article. I told you how much I am in love with this product. It’s a type of boot that never attracted me before, mostly because it is usually intended for off-trail snowmobiling due to their rigidity. However, trying Tobe’s Nimbus boots on the trails was enough to convert me, and now I can’t do without them. Here’s why I love them so much.
Rigidity
Initially, I must say that I found the Nimbus boots challenging to put on and take off due to their rigidity. Don’t panic if you experience the same when you try them on. Over time, you will eventually “break them in,” as they say, and the maneuver becomes much easier. This rigidity has even become an asset; the good support it provides gives me a sense of security.
Warm, Comfortable, and Waterproof
I’ve tested the Nimbus boots in all kinds of weather, and I’ve found that they are very warm due to their 1200 grams of insulation. They are extremely comfortable, and the Sympatex Moisture-Tech membrane provides excellent waterproofing.
BOA Lacing System
Moreover, they come equipped with a BOA lacing system. This technology is well designed and allows you to quickly put on and take off your Nimbus boots. The first few times, I questioned whether I would really like this system or not. However, after using them a while I became familiar with the two ratcheting dials that tighten the bottom and top of the boot independently. The fact these dials are independent is another advantage, as you can tighten one part more or less than the other for added comfort.
Removable Liner
The inner liner of the Nimbus boots is removable. This allows you to dry it after your day to prevent unpleasant odours. Additionally, it comes with a drawstring to secure it properly. The liner stays in place throughout the day thanks to an external Velcro strip located behind the heel. This sticks to a second Velcro strip inside the boot.
Conclusion
In short, the Nimbus boots are truly a premium product that I love. They are warm, comfortable, waterproof, and easy to fasten. So, if you’re in search of a pair of snowmobiling boots, I highly recommend them. I am confident that, just like me, you won’t be able to do without them.
