It was during the Salon de la motoneige et du quad in Québec City that the Motoneiges.ca team had the opportunity to stay at one of the stunning Chalets Alpins Stoneham. Over the course of a few days, our collaborators enjoyed a beautiful setting at the base of the slopes in the Capitale-Nationale region.
Chalets Alpins offer a variety of chalets with different amenities to accommodate groups of friends, families, or work colleagues. We wanted to share our experience of our stay in one of them. Because every enthusiast has their own perspective and opinions are shaped through unique experiences, we chose to give the floor to three of our collaborators so you can experience this article through their respective viewpoints.

A welcoming and relaxing place at Chalets Alpins, by Jessyca Tremblay
During our event at the Snowmobile and ATV Show, we had the chance to stay at Chalets Alpins, located at the foot of the mountains in Stoneham. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a simply breathtaking landscape.
We arrived at Chalets Alpins on Friday evening, accompanied by Pascal (Fortin). A snowstorm was raging: everything was frosted, icy, and magical. We followed the roads leading to the chalet and, upon opening the door, were welcomed by an immense space that was both spacious and incredibly warm. The beautiful fireplace, neutral tones, and overall ambiance—everything was there.
After unloading our luggage and taking off our boots, we slowly began exploring the chalet. I had the chance to admire the large windows and the outdoor lighting, which added even more magic to the place. The kitchen is huge, and the island—with all its seating—is impressive. The wood finishes, the constant reminder of nature, and the fireplace all create a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. It’s simply extraordinary.
In the evening, we headed out to the spa, accessible directly through a door in the basement. It’s very well designed, with hooks at the entrance to hang towels—a simple detail, but extremely practical. We then played a few games of billiards, shared plenty of laughs, and even held a friendly competition at the foosball table.
Most of the bedrooms are located in the basement. There are plenty of sleeping accommodations: one bedroom on the main floor, a dorm-style area with multiple beds, and two additional bedrooms with double beds. I shared my room with Valérie (Gagnon): each of us had a very comfortable double bed. The mattresses, bedding, and towels are all well thought out and provided in more than sufficient quantities. You can really tell that nothing was left to chance.
Honestly, it’s an experience I loved from start to finish. Everything was perfect. The fact that it’s a village of chalets grouped together creates a unique, almost magical atmosphere—a little escape outside of time.
A Warm Stay at Chalets Alpins of Stoneham, by Valérie Gagnon
Even before stepping inside the chalet located on the renowned Stoneham ski mountain, I was already charmed by the atmosphere. Quaint, fairy-tale streets with chalets more charming than the next. The chalet we had the opportunity to stay in, located at 41 ch. des Skieurs, can accommodate more than 15 people. The atmosphere inside is simply perfect. A large living room with a magnificent fireplace immediately caught my attention.
The common areas are spacious and airy. Even with several collaborators staying together, I never once felt cramped. The abundant windows certainly play a role in that feeling. Even in the basement—which feels more like a ground floor—the windows are everywhere. Downstairs, we also had access to a pool table and a foosball table, perfect for bringing people together in the evenings. We also had access to a spa, a great bonus for unwinding after a long day at the Snowmobile and ATV Show.
I also have to mention that I slept like a baby in their beds. Mattresses, pillows, and blankets—everything contributed to exceptional comfort. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the soundproofing was in the bedrooms. Even though some of my colleagues snore, I didn’t hear a thing. Comfort, soundproofing, and cleanliness—Chalets Alpins truly have everything needed to feel welcome. I would absolutely return for a family stay… perhaps during the 2026 holiday season!

My stay at Chalets Alpins of Stoneham was, once again, simply memorable. For the past three years, my colleagues and I have gathered in one of these chalets, and each visit confirms why this place has become a must for us. From the moment you arrive, the scenery stands out: a spectacular natural environment surrounded by mountains and forest, instantly inviting you to disconnect from everyday life.
The chalet I stayed in was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. Everything is designed with guests’ well-being in mind. The kitchen is fully equipped, the living room is warm with its fireplace, the bedrooms are inviting, and the bathrooms are modern. The outdoor spa adds a touch of luxury that’s especially appreciated after a full day at the snowmobile show. The overall atmosphere is friendly and calming—perfect for recharging.
The location of Chalets Alpins is also a major asset. Whether for skiing, snowmobiling, or simply enjoying the outdoors, the proximity to Stoneham’s trails is ideal. Despite this accessibility, the site remains very quiet. Just 35 to 40 minutes from the City of Québec, it offers the perfect balance between nature, activities, and easy access.
In short, my experience at Chalets Alpins of Stoneham was exceptional. The comfort of the facilities, the quality of the accommodations, and the beauty of the site make it a top destination. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable stay in perfect harmony with nature.
