Testing ConforTeck heated insoles

Cold is the worst snowmobiler enemy. To feel this unpleasant sensation that cold wants to invade your body through your feet is common mostly for the passenger who is more exposed to wind than the pilot. But ConforTeck has the solution for you.

ConforTeck Heated Equipments celebrates this year its 15th anniversary and is located in Drummondville. The company manufactures vests, liner jackets, insoles, liner pants, pads, gloves, mittens, and all these products are heated.

Personally, I tested the new insoles-lithium kit. It includes a 12V DC lithium battery of 5200 mAh with 1 output electronic controller of 4 power levels, a pair of heated insoles and a Y shaped cable.

My first experience happened by a cold day of -27 °Celsius. I waited till I felt this unpleasant sensation of damp feet. Then, I turned on my heated insoles and I set the power level at 50 % (for 16 hours of autonomy) and after few minutes, the unpleasant feeling was disappeared and I felt a sweet heat tickling my toes, total comfort…

During another ride, a passenger among our group had her feet frozen when we stopped for lunch, I offered her to try on my insoles. At night, after our ride, I asked for her comments and, jokingly, she said that she did not want to give them back to me, that the comfort she felt was like having her feet into the hot sand of a sunny beach… And this, even if she had set the power level at 25 % (for 30 hours of autonomy) and even at -10 °Celsius.

I always keep these insoles with me. We just have to put them inside our boots, to run the Y shaped cable in our pant legs, to connect it all and to place the battery in a pocket to get this comfort at our fingertips.
