More trails will open for snowmobilers in central Wisconsin Saturday.
In Marathon County, the Northeast Zone is already open and the Southwest and Southeast Zones will be available at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning. The Northwest Zone will remain closed due to poor snow conditions and open water on stream crossings.
In Wood County, all county trails will open at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, but it’s temporary. The Wood County trails will all close again Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. due to expected warmer temperatures and the possibility of rain or sloppy snow in the forecast.
All Marathon and Wood County trails that are open will be in fair or poor condition, and riding could be a little rough. Plowed fields are also a potential hazard when snow depth is low. Snowmobilers are urged to take caution and to stay on the trails.
