For model year 2026, Polaris has released Limited-Edition packages for the RMK Khaos and PRO RMK models. These are only available during the Snow Check timeframe. The 2026 RMK Limited-Edition package consists of enhancements to the already very high-performing platform. Other upgrades include bold new graphics, enhanced Burandt Edition bumpers, and two Burandt Edition handlebar bags. First, let’s a take a closer look at these 2026 RMK Limited-Edition models. Then, I’ll let you know which combination I preferred, after testing them for a week in the mountains.
Engine & Track Options for the 2026 RMK Limited-Edition Package
All 2026 RMK Limited-Edition models come equipped with either the Patriot 9R or Patriot Boost engine. The standard 850 Patriot engine is not an option in the Limited-Edition package. In terms of track length, 2026 Limited-Edition snowmobiles only come in 155 inches. However, you can choose between the 275 Series 8, or the 325 Series 9 track.
2026 Limited-Edition RMK: Unique Paint Design and Special Graphics
The sharp color combinations of the 2026 Limited-Edition RMKs look great on the snow. This is especially true when the sun lights up the sled. The Dark Steel Blue pops and enhances the Dream Orange and Chrome decals. In my opinion, no matter which chassis or engine package you choose, you can’t go wrong. They both look great out on the mountain.
Burandt Edition Accessories: Upgrades for Polaris’ 2026 RMK Limited-Edition Package
Burandt Edition Front Bumper
The Burandt Edition front bumper has a lightweight, yet durable design that all mountain riders are looking for, to provide extra impact protection to the front of the sled. Polaris has also designed the front bumper to have a bash plate to provide extra protection for the under part of the sled, an area of the sled that’s vulnerable to hitting stumps and rocks, especially in the early part of the season. Not only does the Burandt front bumper provide extra protection, but it also has a very sleek and tight design, so it doesn’t allow for snow to build up and add weight to the sled.
Burandt Edition HD Rear Bumper
Polaris has equipped their 2026 Limited-Edition snowmobiles with a Burandt Edition rear bumper. First, I love the look of this upgraded rear bumper. Second, according to Polaris, it provides 40% more strength than a stock bumper. This will protect the sled from big rear hits during a re-entry or hop-over. Not only does it add strength, but it looks good on the sled too! It’s always nice when we can get two benefits for the price of one. Looking better and providing extra strength is a win-win, in my opinion.
Front and Rear Burandt Edition Handlebar Bags
The Burandt Edition handlebar bags come in sets of two: one on the front of the handlebars and one on the rear. Both are made from water-resistant, semi-rigid and compression molded materials. This design keeps moisture out while maintaining its shape even when the bags are empty. The FIDLOCK attachment system makes the handlebar bags interchangeable. This means you can use them in any configuration you prefer. You can also remove or swap them quickly if you want. Even though both handlebar bags are made from the same material, they are designed to hold different types of items.
The Front Burandt Bag
The front Burandt bag has more of an open-pocket design. I believe it would be most practical to keep an extra pair of goggles or gloves, or any larger items that require less organization, on hand.
The Rear Burandt Bag
The rear Burandt handlebar bag’s design includes more compartments. It seems to work very well to keep smaller items that a rider might want to keep organized and access quickly.
Which 2026 RMK Limited-Edition Package Was My Favorite?
Although I find both the PRO and Khaos chassis amazing, much like the 9R and Boost engine packages, one of them stood out for me. Choosing my top Polaris sled was actually very easy for me this year. The model I picked as my favorite for Polaris’ model year 2026 is:
- 2026 RMK Khaos;
- Limited-Edition Package;
- Patriot Boost Engine;
- 325 Series 9 Track.
It Has to Put a Smile on my Face
When I pick a sled to ride for the season, I always look for a few basic things. To begin with, it needs to put a smile on my face when I’m riding it. Personally, it means a sled that is playful and fun. I doubt there are many sleds more deserving of this description than the RMK Khaos with the Patriot Boost engine. Indeed, this combination allows for a lot of front-to-back weight transfer. This makes for easy maneuvers like wheelies, re-entries, bowties, and hop overs. And that’s especially true when it’s powered by the fire-breathing Patriot Boost engine.
It Needs to be Easy to Ride
Another characteristic that’s important to me is how easy it is to ride. I’m looking for a sled that requires very little body input to get it to transfer from side to side. A sled that reacts quickly to my inputs is important, so I can quickly maneuver in tight trees and steep terrain. By having a sled that’s easy to ride and transfer quickly, I save a lot of precious energy throughout my day.
It Has to Perform Well on the Mountain
When riding in the mountains, we face many challenges, such as deep and bottomless snow, steep and treed terrain, and challenging sidehills. If my sled can’t handle these conditions, I’ll get stuck a lot and potentially left behind. That’s why picking a machine that’s powerful and performs well in the mountains is so important to me.
The Decision Was Easy
The 2026 Limited-Edition Patriot Boost RMK Khaos with the 325 Series 9 track was an easy choice for me. I found it super fun and easy to ride, and it performed at the highest level in the mountains. This sled package also comes with attractive graphics, more durable Burandt Approved bumpers, and two extra Burandt Approved handlebar bags for added storage. I think it will be a clear choice for many mountain riders next winter.
Don’t delay folks, the 2026 Limited-Edition RMK sleds are only available during Polaris’ Snow Check timeframe. And you don’t want to miss out on this fun, playful, and now more durable mountain package.
