Arctic Cat innovates into the Mountain world with the Alpha One

Arctic Cat Alpha One Mountain Cat King Cat

With its black color with purple and fluorescent green accents, the all-new Arctic Cat M 8000 Mountain Cat ALPHA ONE has much more to offer than just a funky look. When you look at it, you'll quickly notice the all-new and revolutionary ALPHA ONE rear suspension… Get ready for new standards in the mountain snowmobile world!

This suspension stands out for its unique design with a single central beam, but even more thanks to the use of aluminum extrusion, with magnesium parts and lots of premium components. The result is a super-light assembly, improved rigidity and above all an unequaled driving experience in deep snow.

At first sight, you can see that nothing was left to chance when designing this new rear suspension. The ALPHA ONE uses the high-performance FOX QS3 suspensions as well as a new bearing system, adapted rails, integrated ice scratchers and a track specially developed for this application.

In fact, the Power Claw track was designed in close collaboration with the manufacturer. The objective is to add rigidity on the sides since there are no more guides, but without putting too much of it in order not to interfere with the driving feeling that is intended to adapt depending on the terrain. The track is more flexible and will make it easier to follow imperfections in the snow.

Another big advantage is the weight, there is a considerable reduction of 11 pounds. It is also important to note the speed at which the snow gets evacuated. With the "A" shape design of the center beam, the snow no longer stays stuck in the rear suspension compared to a standard double beam system. The result is a super-competent rear suspension that promises great performance never seen before. Arctic Cat Alpha One Mountain Cat King Cat 2019

As Arctic Cat had in mind to create the ultimate mountain snowmobile, the manufacturer did not stop at the rear suspension and decided to integrate its best features. It seemed obvious to us that the M 8000 Mountain Cat ALPHA ONE would come with the very competent Ascender platform and the fabulous 800cc CTEC2 2-stroke engine.

The new totally revised controls are also up to date on this model in order to allow an improved driving experience.

In addition, with the new G2 ProClimb-7 mountain skis it offers a better balance, an increased floatation and will with less effort penetrate the snow. In the end, you certainly get one of the best performing snowmobiles on the market… Perhaps the best?

First test

I had the privilege to try the M 8000 Mountain Cat ALPHA ONE… Wow! I can assure you that the driving sensation is unbelievable. The ease of driving this machine is disconcerting and it seems almost impossible to us to be able to make tight turns so quickly and with such little effort. You feel the flexibility on the sides of the track and you really feel more comfortable "carving" in the snow. Arctic Cat Alpha One Mountain Cat King Cat 2019

Another advantage is certainly the evacuation of snow which occurs in a fraction of a second. When you ride side hill or do maneuvers that would normally fill the rear section of the snowmobile, you don't have that extra weight to drag. The result: you have a much more aggressive and agile machine in your hands. Moreover, I am convinced that it is really a technological breakthrough that will revolutionize the assembly in the snowmobile market.
