2025 Polaris Patriot Boost RMK Khaos 155: So Many Upgrades and Enhancements

As the snow starts to fall in the mountains around West Yellowstone, my anticipation to ride and test this year’s Polaris snowmobile grows. I’m getting fired up, to say the least! Over the last few years, I’ve had the pleasure of test riding a number of different Polaris RMK set-ups and engine packages. Yet, none of them have been like this particular engine, suspension, length and track package for a long-term review. I’m talking about the 2025 Polaris Patriot Boost RMK Khaos 155 with the Series 9 3.25″ track. I am over-the-moon excited to test this sled this season, and here’s why.

Specs and Features of the 2025 Patriot Boost RMK Khaos

  • RMK Khaos
  • Ghost White Metallic/Gloss Black/Radiant Green
  • Patriot Boost Engine Package
  • 15 × 155 × 3.25 Series 9 Track
  • Walker Evans Velocity Hi-Lo Shocks
  • 7S Display Gauge
  • 5″ ProTaper Handlebar—Low

Polaris’ Fire-Breathing Patriot Boost Engine

For the last two years, I’ve been riding sleds with the Patriot Boost engine package, so I already know I love its big power. Here in West Yellowstone, where I live and do my testing, the elevation ranges from 6,600 ft (2,011 m) to 10,000 ft (3,048 m). When riding at these heights, naturally aspirated snowmobiles, like the RMK Khaos, are starved of oxygen, thus drastically reducing the amount of horsepower the engine can produce. That’s why picking the powerful Patriot Boost was an easy decision for this year’s sled. I mean, who doesn’t like big horsepower in a mountain sled? I know I do!

Polaris Upgrades for Model Year 2025

For model year 2025, Polaris has made many upgrades and modifications to their mountain sled line up. The main reasons for these improvements are to continue to reduce weight and improve handling and performance. Indeed, these upgrades lightened the sled to the tune of seven pounds. Yep, you read that right! The 2025 model in certain packages is seven pounds lighter than some of their 2024 counterparts. Seven pounds is a lot of weight to shed on an already light-weight performance mountain sled. I rode a 2024 Patriot Boost Pro RMK Slash 155 all last season, and let me tell you that it didn’t feel heavy at all. So, shedding an additional seven pounds for this year’s RMK Khaos Boost has me excited as a kid on Christmas morning!

Highlights on the 2025 Patriot Boost RMK Khaos Upgrades

I’ll go more in depth with each upgrade and modification in my next review articles once I’ve had a chance to test them on the snow for a few rides. But here’s a quick breakdown of the changes for the 2025 Khaos Boost I’ll be testing.

  • Pro-Lite Seat: 1 in lower and 1 lb lighter.
  • Throttle System: smoother throttle feel and less snow buildup.
  • Lightweight LED Headlight: wider beam pattern and 2.5 lb lighter.
  • Lightweight Running Boards: more open design with better traction and reduced snow buildup.
  • Lightweight Steel Driveshaft: 1 lb lighter and made completely from steel.
  • Lightweight Serviceable Suspension Pads: serviceable and removable while maintaining the strength of the older-style pads.

A Sled Designed for My Style of Riding

If a sled were designed just for me, the 2025 Patriot Boost RMK Khaos with the 15 × 155 × 3.25 Series 9 track would be it. It has all the features and characteristics of a perfect mountain sled for my style of riding. First, it has the big horsepower of the Patriot Boost turbo engine. Then, it has the playful chassis of the Khaos and the 155 in length to enhance its playfulness. And finally, the snow-scooping Series 9 3.25 in track depth for great lift and propulsion.

Here it is folks! We’re on the cusp of a fantastic season of testing a true mountain backcountry weapon. Will it live up to my excitement and expectations? I guess we’ll see, but I’m feeling pretty excited about this long-term review sled!

Special Thanks

I would like to give a special thank you to Polaris Inc. for allowing me to ride and review this beautiful, backcountry mountain weapon for the season. They are what makes it possible for us at Sledmagazine.com to be able to test a snowmobile throughout a season in a variety of conditions and give you, the reader, our honest feedback.

I would also like to thank the crew at Polaris West in West Yellowstone, Montana. Literally, yesterday, Jayson Works and I spent the day meticulously building and dialling in this year’s mountain hot rod. Do you know how much restraint it took for me to write this article when I have a brand-new sled in my garage with no miles on it? I’m a man of my word folks, so I had to write this article before my first ride. But guess what? The article now is done, so I’m headed out to take my 2025 Patriot Boost RMK Khaos 155 out for a ride right now! I can’t wait any longer. See you in the mountains!
