YAMAHA Motor Canada announces that Yamaha dealers will be the exclusive distributors of the new DUPONT slides for all snowmobile manufacturers (Arctic Cat, BRP and Polaris). These new slides are made of very strong plastic developed for YAMAHA. Their exclusive distribution has been granted to YAMAHA.
These slides are more capable of withstanding heat because friction against the track has been reduced. Less snow is required to lubricate the slides and to cool them down. Thus, they are more durable.
Here is the design of slide support required to install these slides on your snowmobile.
I tested these DUPONT slides during the last years. I have been able to see their durability. I rode 10 000 km on a 2011 Yamaha Apex SE and the slides were still in good condition when I change my snowmobile. I installed DUPONT slides on the new 2015 Yamaha Viper S-TX DX at the beginning of this season and after 4 000 km, they perform as well as the ones I had on the Apex.
I conclude that this is a very good investment for thousands of kilometers of fun without being concerned about the slides.
