Hello snowmobilers!
I am very pleased to introduce to you today the Avalanche trailer manufactured by our partner King Trail (K-Trail).
The Avalanche is an enclosed dual trailer almost exclusively made of aluminum with rear drop ramp door. Two editions are offered; the S model has one torsion axle with gross axle weight rating of 3500 lb and the T model has 2 torsion axles with GAWR of 2100 lb each.
Many companies produce such trailers; so it is important to check out carefully the various components of the Avalanche. You will see that King Trail offers high quality all over their products.
First, the exterior is made totally of aluminum, except for the two axles. The weld base of the chassis, with no bolts, prevents from premature wear.
All exterior sidewalls are glued, no rivets, no bolts.
The front door is very useful when you fasten the skis of the snowmobiles. The door is lockable to secure your equipment and snowmobiles inside the trailer.
A small door on the left side has been added to make it easier when you fill up the fuel tanks.
The Avalanche is equipped only with LED lights that are much more durable and resistant to vibrations.
The rear door is equipped with reliable robust hinges.
The lock system is the same found on all large enclosed trailers, the barlock system : on each side, a long bar goes almost from the bottom to the top of the door and is secured with a pull-down pawl that you may lock up with a padlock.
The 12" galvanized wheels present a 6 spoke design.
Our dual axle model has a suspension with torsion bar. Simple and very robust, you can charge up to 4200 lbs.
King Trail uses the high quality SXL Wiring Quality electrical products. Wires are fully protected with rubber scheating that prevents corrosion and increases its durability. Please also note the swivel jack with wheel.
Inside
All the interior structure is screwless, as the exterior. A lot of aluminum tubes are used to keep a good rigidity.
Still with durability in mind, the cables are all covered with a plastic scheating.
Plywood has been added at the bottom to protect the aluminum tubes and the skis of the snowmobiles.
The trailer features a spring assist rear drop ramp door.
You will appreciate the indoor light, very useful at night.
A traditional fixation system with bars is used for the skis and at rear, there are 3 robust built-in tie points.
