The winter that won't end continues to be a boon for snowmobilers. The South Warren Snowmobile Club's trails were busy this weekend.
The snow cover is getting thin in places, though. The club has closed the gates on the bike path section in Lake George because of a lack of snow cover, and the trails will officially close April 1.
"The trail system still remains in fair to good condition but once you get into the woods some of the trails are outstanding. With the cold weather early this week the trails should be beautiful," club president Bob "Hammer" Grant said in an email. "It will go quick so get it while it’s here."
A forecast that calls for the first real warmup of the year this weekend will likely spell the end of the season.
