For the 2025 season, I will be testing the Ski-Doo Renegade Adrenaline 2025, equipped with the Enduro package and the 900 ACE Turbo engine. This snowmobile is designed for long-distance riders who enjoy a sporty ride and seek a model packed with advanced technologies for solo adventures.
This pre-ride analysis focuses on the following main features:
- The 900 ACE Turbo engine, its performance, smoothness, and fuel efficiency.
- The REV Gen5 chassis for its comfort and on-trail performance.
- Suspension, skis, and track performance in varying trail conditions.
- Controls and ease of use.
- The new 10.25-inch gauge, its information display, and user-friendliness.
- Standard equipment.
- Installed options on the snowmobile.
900 ACE Turbo Engine
The Renegade Adrenaline Enduro 2025 I am testing is powered by the 900 ACE Turbo engine. This engine is expected to appeal to many snowmobilers looking for a mix of performance and fuel economy, delivering an impressive 130 horsepower.
Take advantage of three driving modes:
- ECO: For superior fuel efficiency.
- STANDARD: For more linear acceleration.
- SPORT: For dynamic acceleration and throttle response.
Ski-Doo continues to use its Intelligent Throttle Control (ITC) system, which was updated in 2022 for more predictable acceleration, particularly in SPORTS mode. During my test, I’ll evaluate its real-world fuel efficiency, performance, and smoothness across all driving modes. In the past, ITC was a weak point, especially in SPORTS mode, where it caused abrupt accelerations and decelerations on bumpy trails.
The snowmobile is also equipped with the pDrive clutch, a proven component over the years. I’ll assess whether it continues to be gentle on the belt.
REV Gen5 Chassis
In 2024, the Renegade family transitioned to the REV Gen5 chassis. This chassis is known for its more balanced handling, improved responsiveness, and tighter cornering capability. I’ll be checking these aspects, along with its wind and weather protection.
Suspension, Skis, and Traction
The Renegade Adrenaline Enduro 2025 I’m testing is equipped with a suspension system introduced in 2021.
At the front, the RAS X suspension
This system allows the ski stance to be adjusted across three configurations: 42.1 in., 43.0 in., and 43.9 in. The standard stance for most Ski-Doo snowmobiles is 42.4 in. I’ll start my season with a 43.0-inch stance, which I believe will strike a good balance between cornering stability and deeper snow handling.
At the rear, the rMotion X suspension
Equipped with an air-controlled shock (ACS), this system allows suspension stiffness to be adjusted based on preference using a handlebar-mounted switch. This suspension system has proven itself as reliable, offering smooth or sporty rides depending on the setting.
The Renegade Adrenaline Enduro 2025 also comes with Pilot TX skis, which allow the keel depth to be adjusted for personalized handling.
Key points to verify during testing:
- Do the Pilot TX skis reduce darting on trails?
- How do the skis and suspension perform in corners?
- How do the skis and suspension handle various trail conditions?
Traction
The ICE Ripper XT 137 × 15 × 1.25 track provides ground traction, offering an excellent compromise between a studded and non-studded track. With unpredictable winter conditions, the studs provide enhanced safety on icy trails. I’ll be evaluating this track’s performance in traction, braking, and vibration across various conditions.
Controls and Features
The Renegade Adrenaline Enduro 2025 comes equipped with an electric starter and an electromechanical reverse system. Note that the starter button doubles as the reverse activation button.
Heated handlebars and a heated thumb throttle are standard features. Exciting news for users—Ski-Doo has reintroduced separate controls for the handlebar and thumb throttle heat settings. This change replaces the single control system, which was unpopular among many riders. During my tests, I’ll check their performance and ease of adjustment.
The heated seat will be a welcome addition, especially during cold, late-day rides. This winter, I’ll assess how the seat handles various temperatures in terms of comfort and warmth.
10.25-Inch Display
The Renegade Adrenaline Enduro 2025 is equipped with a 10.25-inch colour touchscreen featuring BRP Connect and an integrated GPS. The display promises extensive functionality, and I look forward to putting it through its paces.
Key aspects to evaluate:
- Is important information easy to find without navigating through multiple adjustments? Is it legible?
- How clear is the display under different lighting conditions and viewing angles?
- How user-friendly is the screen customization process?
- Is smartphone connectivity seamless and practical?
- How does the integrated GPS perform?
Standard Features
The Renegade Adrenaline Enduro 2025 comes with the following standard equipment:
- Two LinQ attachment sets for securing bags
- Heated visor plug
- Medium windshield
- Ultra-rugged front bumper
- Premium LED headlight
- 520-watt magneto to handle all power needs
Optional Accessories
For the 2025 season, I will also test the following accessories:
- Wide adjustable mirrors for excellent visibility.
- Tunnel-mounted ice scratchers, which help lubricate the runners and cool the engine, reducing stress on icy or hard-packed trails.
- Adjustable windshield (14.5–17 in.).
Summary of Key Evaluation Points
To provide a comprehensive review of the Renegade Adrenaline Enduro 2025, here are the key aspects I will monitor throughout the season:
- Performance of the 900 ACE Turbo engine across the three driving modes.
- Fuel efficiency under real-world conditions.
- Suspension performance at the front and rear, with the ACS air-controlled shock.
- Ease of use and functionality of the 10.25-inch touchscreen display.
