New to 2018, the Norseman 6000 finds itself in the manufacturer’s utilities’ family thanks to its ability to work. Despite everything, it could very well have found itself in the hybrid category since it offers excellent skills as much on-trail as off-trail. With its versatility and standard equipment, we believe that it is a snowmobile that is worth considering when making a purchase.
The C-TEC2 599 cc engine equips the Norseman 6000
Mechanical Elements
Arctic Cat has decided to add the 2-stroke C-TEC2 599 cc fuel injection engine in 2 phases to this snowmobile. The core of this machine provides very good performance with the 125 HP and economical fuel consumption thanks to its modern design.
In addition, the manufacturer has decided to install the Arctic Drive drive assembly with TEAM Rapid Response pulleys for increased efficiency, fast takeoffs as well as notable riding softness. Now this is a mechanical set up that will certainly allow the Norseman to have everything it takes to perform heavy tasks, but also have fun in the snow!
The rear suspension has a hinged and lockable area
This model is equipped with a front ARCTIC RACE suspension with wishbone arms and has adjustable gas shock absorbers to give you confidence in the turns as well as acclaimed robustness.
At the rear, can we count on the articulated Xtra-action suspension system which allows you to move the last few inches of the track’s train from top to bottom. The rear suspension therefore offers improved comfort in snowy conditions that are more rough and bumpy.
In addition, this feature allows you to reverse more easily by encouraging the rear of the snowmobile to raise rather than to sink, as opposed to traditional rear suspensions. You can also lock the track’s train with the help of a simple mechanical plunger. You will therefore be able to appreciate all the traction of the Cobra 154 in. x 15 in. track and 1.6 in. of studs.
The ProUte skis, being 10 inches at their largest and 8 inches at their narrowest, offer unparalleled float to literally glide on the surface in powdery snow. The manufacturer has also seen fit to offer an adjustment of the spacing of the skis that varies between 35.5 inches and 41.5 inches to offer the user the possibility to adjust its kind of driving. This way, you can opt for a smaller width to slip through obstacles easily, a balanced width to provide an optimal and more pleasant driving experience in trails or finally, a larger width for greater stability.
Standard Equipment
Several elements, accessories and services are standard with this versatile snowmobile. Let us start with what makes up the driver’s direct environment. When mounting the Norseman 6000, there is a very comfortable and slightly narrow mountain seat to help with standing manoeuvres all well providing excellent support. The driving position is pleasant, relaxed and allows you to quickly move from a sitting to a standing position. The handlebar has a 6.5 in. uprising block and provides perfect balance between standing and seated driving. In addition, it is adjustable to adapt to your needs.
We cannot leave out the mid-height 14 in. windshield which provides good wind protection while not being too intrusive in the driver’s vision. It should also be mentioned that this windshield doesn’t “destroy” the Norseman’s look and even gives it a nice style. Then, our eyes stop on the instrument panel: The meter is easy to read and use, has all the necessary information and much more!
This snowmobile does, of course, offer hand and thumb warmers, which are an absolute necessity and is also standard nowadays. Another standard feature, which is very appreciated on the Norseman, is the electric starter.
Many other accessories, which enhance the Norseman 6000, are standard such as a 12-volt outlet, a tunnel bag, front bumper, a pivot hitch and a rear baggage area. With all the standard features, you get a very complete snowmobile, ready for any adventure.
