The headlines for Polaris 2015 will likely be dominated by the introduction of the premium, highly evolved, highly engineered, AXYS platform trail performers. However……It is very likely that the biggest news for the largest majority of snowmobilers will be the continued expansion of Polaris' Indy line.

When the legendary Indy name was re-introduced, many (including me) wondered if the modern Indy effort would be more sizzle than steak. After all, seldom do the sequels to blockbusters live up to the hype or expectation left by the original.
If the Indy redo was to be “no more than" a quick sales gimmick on a base model, I was OK with that, as the affordability of snowmobiling is a primary concern.
Since the re-introduction of the Indy name just a few short years ago, it has quickly become obvious that the goal of Polaris was to make an Indy model for everyone and everything. History may ultimately judge the new Indy line to be more important and significant to the growth and health of snowmobiling than the original Indy line.

The timing of the next Indy models could not have been more perfect. After a huge sell out of 2014 Voyagers, Polaris introduces 2 new 155" models to the Indy family for 2015.
For 2015 the complete Voyageur line also underwent a minor but significant spelling change from “Voyager" to “Voyageur" giving credit where credit is due and giving homage to the Quebec inspiration for the development of the highly versatile Voyageur models.

Polaris took everything that made their 2014 Voyager sleds an out of the park homerun and kicked it up a notch. The admitted design goal was to offer utility models that surpassed every capability and performance level of BRP's Tundra models by a significant margin.
Here are a few Indy 155 specifics, you be the judge!
- New Pro Float skis with a stepped bottom design to offer deep snow agility, precise trail stability/control and industry leading reverse performance. 45% more surface area than the Pro Steer trail ski.
- Articulated uncoupled torsion spring rear suspension with RydeFX MPV compression adjustable rear track shock.
- Suspension / chassis calibrations that allow these sleds to perform as well fully loaded as they do unloaded.
- 15" x 155" x 1.6" deep lug Cobra lug track, specifically selected for deep snow traction as well as compliant trail characteristics and performance.
- Adjustable RMK front suspension offering the widest range of on / off trail stability
- The Indy 155 Voyageur model includes wrap around aluminum cargo rack with a 65lb rated capacity and hinged tow hitch for the heaviest of loads.
- Both 155 models will have Electric start, PERC reverse and the RMK hydraulic disc brake.

This full featured touring focused model has all the floatation, traction and deep snow performance enhancements of the 155 Voyageur. It also includes tall windshield, wind deflectors, mirrors, aluminum front bumper, Indy Pro-Ride seat, easily convertible Lock & Ride passenger seat, passenger footrests, , Adventure cargo rack system and industry leading rigid Lock & Ride saddlebags with removable bags. For 2015 the 155" Voyageur and Adventure models are offered in the “beyond expectation" 550cc engine. This perfectly clutched 550 has impressed fan cooled skeptics with greater response, higher fuel efficiency and more top end than thought possible.

While the 550 power plant is impressive and has pleasantly exceeded expectation, we were disappointed that we can't get more Voyageurs with the increased power of the 600 Cleanfire engine. This would definitely be a welcome option for future 155's and we will not be surprised when it happens.
