Patrick's favorite YAMAHA 2020
My favorite of the Snow Shoot 2020 is the Yamaha Sidewinder L-TX SE. During this event, which lasts more than five full days, I tried most of the models that will be available in 2020. Including the SRX, L-TX, X-TX, X-TX, S-TX (2 seats) as well as the Transporter it 600 2-stroke (utility).
The Sidewinder L-TX SE looks very young and sporty with its vibrant colors. Having a smile on your face when you start and accelerate with one of the most powerful snowmobiles in the industry leaves no one indifferent. It is possible thanks to its Genesis triple cylinder 998cc turbo engine. Let’s say that my Titan helmet wanted to tear my head off so much that it “triggered.” There is no doubt that there is more than 200 HP under the hood; the performance is there. No other manufacturer has been able to give me this feeling.
If we break down the letters, L-TX means that the snowmobile has a 137 inch by 15-inch-wide track with 1.25-inch studs Ripsaw II. It is a combination that provides plenty of trail traction and gives the option to go off-trail.
The letters SE stands for “Special Edition,” a snowmobile for customers between 30 and 45 years old who are looking for a hybrid snowmobile to enjoy a sporty ride and explore off-trail areas.
During the tests, the temperature was stable; the thermometer was oscillating near zero and snow was constantly falling on West Yellowstone in the state of Montana. With all this snow and mild weather, we had several sections of trails with holes and bumps. This allowed us to try the suspensions at all speeds. The Fox RC front, HPG 1.5“ central and 2” rear shock absorbers do an excellent job, I was very impressed.
