At the Snow Shoot event, the manufacturers present the state-of-the-art technologies that will change the life of snowmobilers who buy their products. In this matter, BRP is often the leader. This season, their engineers have been able to bring innovations that will truly make a difference.
Personally, I think that one of the most important innovations is the new adjustable skis system called Pilot TS skis. It is a major factor in the steering experience of a snowmobile on trail. Very often, during a ride, conditions change quickly. With this adjustment system, you just have to turn the knob located on front of the ski leg to set the height of the carbide runner and blade. You can really adjust it to the current conditions. Set at the highest position, the runner and blade will provide the maximal precision and bite in turns, mostly on icy surfaces or in powder snow.
The Pilot TS system is easy to reach. You can quickly change your type of riding to meet the current conditions.
The new system offers 20 different settings over a range of 12,5 mm or 0,5 inch. Ten rotations of the knob are necessary to go from the lowest to the highest setting. A setting indicator is located on the adjustment mechanism.
So, after choosing your steering type by the engine, you now have with this system another element you can take advantage of, choosing your riding type. You can start your day with a sport riding, more aggressive with a setting with more biting, and come back smoothly with a more relaxing and supple riding.
This new design of skis is standard feature on MXZ Blizzard, Renegade Enduro and Grand Touring SE 2016 models. It is combined with the Quick Adjust rMotion system. You can get the Pilot TS skis on Ski-Doo snowmobiles equipped with the RAS 2 suspension.
Other innovations
For 2016, BRP chose to refine their models in order to offer you the optimal riding experience. The new RAS 2 front suspension has been installed and it provides better handling and increased precision during maneuvers. Its ergonomics allow you to quickly transfert weight on the snowmobile. It will response quickly to your commands.

And what about the intelligent throttle or the choice of riding mode between Sport, Standard or ECO. All is controlled from a small button on the console. You can rotate the throttle block on the handle in order to choose your optimal position in accordance with your type of riding.
Among the snowmobiles designed for trails and equipped with 1200 4-TEC engine, they are now equipped with the iTC (Intelligent Throttle Control). They are also offered on the REV-XS platform.
The rMotion rear suspension provides perfect comfort and control during snocross racing as well as during a tour with a passenger.
