Olympia Wolf Point Snowmobile Suit

For the winter of 2019-2020, Motovan provided me with an Olympia Wolf Point snowmobile suit for testing. The latter already manufactures many accessories and clothing for motorcycles and ATVs and is now diversifying into the snowmobile category. It makes several models of snowmobile clothing, and the one on trial is part of the Adventure series, which is the warmest series.

First, let’s start with the jacket, whose main features you’ll find a little further on. As far as storage is concerned, it has three outside pockets with zips and four inside pockets, two of which are zipped. I found it convenient to be able to bring what I wanted and place it within easy reach. The front of the coat, in addition to the zip, has magnets that close the flap on the zip. I find this system more convenient than Velcro.

Next, the coat has a breathable and waterproof membrane. I haven’t driven in rainy conditions or wet snow so I can’t evaluate the waterproof side, but the breathable side works well. I’ve never felt wet and what’s more, it has a zip on each side near the arms to release warmth if necessary. The coat remains flexible even in very cold weather. The insulation does a good protective job. I tried it on very cold days and added an underlayer to be more comfortable. I prefer to ride with under layers that I can remove or add as needed.

As for the bib pants, I like the fact that it goes very high up on our bodies. On the insulation side, even in very cold weather, I didn’t feel any coolness. There are also four pockets with zippers. The gaiter attaches well to our boot. The bib pants are also breathable and waterproof, and I’ve never had my bottom wet from the snow on the seat that melts underneath us. The waist adjustment is also very interesting.
