Mid-Season Impressions of the Renegade Enduro 600R E-TEC 2019
Time goes by quickly; I have reached about 2,000 km with my test snowmobile since the beginning of my season on January 10. During the running in period, I was careful with my accelerations to follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
When I took possession of this snowmobile, I noticed that its appearance, with the equipment the manufacturer has installed for it to perform, gave me confidence that it was designed to do well on the trail.
Indeed, I confirm that it meets what a snowmobiler is looking for in a trail snowmobile.
Point of view
For this article, I will not describe all the characteristics of this snowmobile; I will keep this for my end-of-season article. At that moment, I will explain more precisely the features of the model and the little secrets it hides.
First test
Usually, it takes a few kilometers before I feel comfortable, but this time I was right away, a pleasant surprise for me. Only a few adjustments to the suspension, which is usual with a new snowmobile.
600R E-TEC engine
This new engine, the little brother of the 850 E-TEC, was introduced in 2017. When the running in was over, I had a lot of fun for a 600 with five more forces than the old E-TEC, the accelerations impressed me.
The manufacturer mentions that the acceleration is 30% more powerful than the old engine. Indeed, the driver will immediately notice that the engine responds without hesitation. Moreover, during the retake, it responds instantly. The owners of this engine will appreciate it.
For fuel consumption and oil, I will give you an idea; the result will be more accurate at the end of the season.
For the moment, in different trail conditions, the fuel was 15 liters per 100 km, which will give about 240 to 250 km with the 36-liter tank.
For oil, the manufacturer indicates in the characteristics that there is little or no odor and smoke. Now I understand why this new engine has consumed 1 liter of oil for 450 km. It is how this new engine performs, but I will get back to it in a more specific way in my final review.
The REV 4 chassis
Since the introduction of this new chassis on Ski-Doo models, it has been a significant plus for the owners. The shock absorbers, suspensions, TS skis, and Air Ride shock absorbers significantly improve handling when negotiating curves and comfort when riding.
Its 511 lb. weight is immediately noticed when you play off trails, in accepted places. It is at this moment that you feel the weight, the snowmobile is very easy to handle and responds easily to our movements without too much effort.
Comfort
For a trail snowmobiler like me, this snowmobile makes his driver happy to ride with high-quality comfort. The seat is well designed and comfortable and is heated. It makes long rides more pleasant.
General impressions
For the model, there is a lot to tell you. For my mid-season impressions, I just wanted to give my initial comments. Be assured that I am satisfied with what I have observed on this vehicle.
Since the beginning of my season, this snowmobile has surprised me every time I ride. That’s why during my last article on all my tests, I’ll tell you a lot more about this model that hides little secrets that I’ll discover by the end of the season.
