INTRODUCING The 2014 SledMagazine.com / Motoneiges.ca Polaris 800 RUSH ProR LE

The 800 RUSH ProR LE will be similar to the 2013 Switchback LE (read all about it in our 2013 “long term trail” articles) with its’ powerful Liberty 800 Clean Fire engine, Pro Ride suspension, Walker Evans LE shock package and familiar ergonomics, gauges and controls. The 2014 RUSH will be quite different in terms of being a 121” short track model in contrast to the tested to be excellent, bump bridging capabilities of the 136” Pro Ride skid.

This season I will also ride without what I consider to be the industry leading Integrated Lock and Ride storage system. If you read last year’s Switchback articles you will see that storage is high on my list and that the Switchback excelled in that category.  I will be utilizing most every available Polaris storage option for a RUSH model and making use of every nook and cranny that can I can find. Will I be able to carry all the things that I choose and desire to continue carrying? I’ll let you know!

Our 2013 SledMagazine.com Switchback LE had the optional 1.75” Back Country track, which offered exceptional off trail, traction and braking capabilities, but was less than the ultimate choice for effortless groomed trail turning ability. The 2014 RUSH features a 1.352 track which I am very excited to experience and compare.

With a less aggressive shorter track, I’ll have everything that I thoroughly enjoyed about the bump absorbing, spine tingling eliminating, progressive rate ProR suspension in a version that I anticipate will be a “see the line”, “feel the line” trail turning powerhouse.

The 2014 RUSH will be lighter at 464 lbs versus the Switchback at 520 lbs, will this result in a notable difference in the feel, stability or handling? I’ll let you know!

The 2013 SledMagazine.com LE’s stunning and bright Retro graphics trim package were an attention grabber everywhere it went. The 2014 800 RUSH LE will be seen on trials and stops in many regions in New England, Quebec and New Brunswick in the aggressive “spring only” gloss and matte finished “Stealth Black” package with black suspension rails and ProR tunnel

Happy trails and read all about it!
