Hayden looking for right groove at Milwaukee Mile

While racing in the highly competitive ISOC Pro-Open class at the Milwaukee Mile – the oldest motor speedway in the world – Hayden missed a chance to qualify for the final in both his heats.

“We went in there with high expectations considering we finished strong in the ISOC series last year. My FX Nytro® was running well but I just couldn’t use it to my advantage. Riding again in the ISOC series reminded me just how tough the competition is and how I have to really be at my best to finish well,” said Hayden. “Although we didn’t finish where we wanted to, we did leave a little wiser and are already looking forward to the next race.”

The event at the Milwaukee Mile attracted twenty-four of the best snocross drivers in the world, all trying to qualify for the fifteen starting spots in the premier Pro Open final. Hayden finished seventh in both his heats missing out on the LCQ by one point.

Hayden, mounted on the potent four-stroke Yamaha FX Nytro®, got a decent jump out of the gate in his first qualifier but was pushed wide off the first turn and rejoined the fray at the back of the pack. With the track being short and tight, it was nearly impossible for him to make up any time and he had to settle for a tepid seventh at the finish line.

In his second heat, Hayden pegged the holeshot only to get piled into from behind, with his sled’s skis getting stuck in the skid frame. By the time he was back in action, he once again found himself at the back of the pack taking the checkered in seventh place.

“It was a tough weekend for us after successfully running the Canadian series one week earlier. As always, Iain gave it his best shot but came up a bit short this time. The good news is that we had no issues with the Yamaha FX Nytro®. The sled worked amazingly well and the crew did their usual excellent work behind the scenes,” said team owner/manager Andre Laurin.
