We heard this comment from the organizing committee of the first Festival Ciel et Neige 2.0 that was held last week-end on the Monts Valin, on the site of the Auberge du km 31.
«Weather conditions were exceptional …», said Mr Marc Thibeault, the Festival Director of Public Relations. «Visitors came in continuously during both days of celebration. So, there has been no traffic jam at any moment and it was easier for visitors to get around, mostly on Saturday», added Mr Thibeault, who is very happy with the results of this first edition.
Another major factor is that despite the large number of snowmobilers who rode on trails all week-end long, the Club de motoneige Caribou-Conscrit managed to keep the trails in outstanding conditions.
This is quite different from the final days of snowmobiling we have been used to for the past seasons. We know that many elements may affect the trail conditions during events held at the end of a season, but one thing is sure, the local club did all what was possible to satisfy the snowmobilers. Bravo !
In collaboration with Kimpex-CKX and SnowTracker, the Festival organizing committee sold tickets on the site to win prizes worth over 1 500 $, including the grand prize worth about 1 000 $. All the profits from the tickets sale, about 800 $, will be given to the Club de motoneige Caribou-Conscrit to thank them for their remarkable contribution.
The demo rides on 2014 snowmobiles have known quite a success thanks to the presence of Arctic Cat Demo Tour Ride trailer. The demo rides were offered on Friday and Saturday by Arctic Cat representatives.
Visitors had the chance to pilot the new ZR 6000 El Tigre and the new ZR 7000 model equipped with the astonishing 4-stroke 1049 cc engine. This was without a doubt one of the highlights of the Festival, along with the presence of BRP representatives and their impressive ACE 900 engine which performance was unanimously acclaimed.
The Air Médic helicopter was also on the site and the SledMagazine.com Team members presented at their stand 5 snowmobiles used for their long-term trials.
Many other medias were also present : Mr Julien Cabana, from the Journal de Québec, Mrs Johanne St-Pierre from the Progrès-Dimanche, and people from Radio-Canada.
Finally, many visitors had the chance to enjoy a delicious diner on Friday and Saturday nights at the Auberge du km 31.
They were invited to a special presentation on the Snow Shoot 2014 offered by the SledMagazine.com Team members. Later in the evening, the wonderful Morissette Sisters entertained everyone with their greatest hits.
Now, it is time to draw up the report of the event and according to our sources, the organizing committee is already planning the second edition of the Festival Ciel et Neige 2.0.
