T2 One-Piece: The Fully Customizable Clothing Concept From EWT

A perfectly tailored outfit—does that speak to you? That’s the concept behind EWT, a manufacturer of motorized sports apparel. The company offers a wide variety of clothing that you can personalize as you wish. So, when I was given the opportunity to choose an outfit from their catalogue, I had a very specific need in mind: to test a T2 one-piece that would keep me warm when the temperature drops drastically. My goals: a stylish look, vibrant colours, insulation, durability, and comfort. Let’s see if we can meet these criteria.

Comfort

Let’s take a look at the comfort and insulation of the T2 one-piece. The outfit offers several elements that contribute to comfort: a zippered opening at the neck, a soft inner lining, good insulation, and a well-designed belt-and-suspenders system.

I found the neck opening to be particularly useful. It allows for pressure release without having to open the jacket, which is perfect during intense physical activity. This gives more room around the neck for better breathing without exposing yourself to the elements.

The inner lining is pleasant to the touch and makes wearing the T2 one-piece more enjoyable. Additionally, multiple air vents are installed to provide good ventilation throughout the suit. I felt well wrapped up in it.

Speaking of being well wrapped up, the insulation provided by this EWT T2 one-piece is sufficient for trail riding. The T2 one-piece kept me warm throughout my rides. However, if you are into backcountry riding, I recommend the insulated version only in extremely cold weather. For milder temperatures, I would opt for the non-insulated version and wear multiple layers underneath. Remember, I specifically requested insulation to have a sturdy and warm garment for extreme cold outings.

The external belt system is also an excellent feature, in my opinion. It keeps the waist snugly in place without restricting movement. The suspenders, though functional, could be wider for better comfort and stability. However, they do their job well.

Two objectives met: Comfort ✅ and Insulation ✅.

Durability

The T2 one-piece I tested was also equipped with DTX membranes. I can tell you that this outer membrane seems extremely robust. It inspires confidence in terms of durability and its ability to withstand harsh weather conditions and rough terrain.

My suit features reinforcements around the boot area and the inner leg. Since these areas are prone to wear and tear, I appreciate the extra effort put into durability.

The zippers are of high quality and are sealed to provide windproof and waterproof properties.

Overall, the durability objective is met ✅. And let’s not forget that I did not opt for any additional reinforcements available on EWT’s website. These would have further strengthened the T2 one-piece at the expense of mobility and weight.

Design

Visually, the T2 one-piece I tested was stunning! I love the colour scheme and how they are arranged. I had no problem wearing it in restaurants or around my riding buddies.

The T2 one-piece offers better ventilation compared to others in the industry. It has two vents under the arms, one at the front and one at the back. As a bonus, I noticed an additional vent on the top of the arm, which I had never seen before.

In terms of pockets, the T2 one-piece includes an external chest pocket with a built-in goggle wipe. While not very large, it works well. The thigh pockets are lined with fleece, making them comfortable for slipping your hands in.

Additionally, the suit has peculiar cargo-style pockets on the sides of the thighs. Personally, I find them a bit bulky, but I understand their utility.

Finally, there is a D-ring attachment on both sides for a safety tether—an excellent feature that’s not always found in the industry.

Overall, the objectives of bright colours and an appealing appearance are achieved ✅✅.

Customizable Outfit

At EWT, they do not hold back on options. This might be a little overwhelming at first glance, but this unique approach is truly interesting. There is a vast range of one-piece suits, two-piece outfits, gear adapted for snow bikes, and more. On top of that, multiple customization options are available for each item in their catalogue.

I must highlight EWT’s impressive range of sizing options. The ability to choose a shorter or longer leg length (e.g., an XL with short legs) is highly appreciated. This allows for better adaptation to different body types, which is often a challenge in snowmobile apparel.

Another key point is customization. I love the manufacturer’s customization options. EWT allows you to create entirely “made-to-order” outfits. The process is simple: first, you choose a garment on their website, then you can select from several standard colours. However, EWT doesn’t stop there! You can pick a custom colour to match your snowmobile. Then, you decide whether you want insulation or not. After that, you select your size.

But wait, there’s more! You can also add leather reinforcements on the knees, elbows, shoulders, inner legs, and back. Plus, you have the choice of multiple membranes suited to your intended use. In short, the possibilities are endless, especially with the option of fully customized pieces available on the manufacturer’s website.

Areas for Improvement

Although the T2 one-piece won me over, it is not perfect. In my opinion, a few aspects could be improved.

First, the zippers lack flexibility. They seem reinforced but at the expense of comfort. This could be improved with more flexible materials while maintaining durability.

Next, the hood seems poorly fitted. Its odd shape makes it somewhat impractical—I felt as if I was wearing a Smurf hat. Adjusting the fit to be more ergonomic would be a smart move.

Also, I found that the wrist cuffs lacked structure, reducing their ability to keep out wind and snow. A tighter and firmer elastic would significantly improve comfort and protection.

Finally, the non-negligible cost of import fees to Canada adds to the final price. When I received my T2 one-piece, I had to pay about $70 in customs fees. This could deter some buyers, especially if other local or more affordable brands are available.

Conclusion

The T2 one-piece from EWT offers many advantages that make it a solid choice, especially considering its price point in the entry-level range. Its tailored fit, including the option for shorter or longer leg lengths, accommodates various body types, and its sturdiness inspires confidence in harsh winter conditions. Moreover, it is comfortable for long rides and provides ample storage with well-placed pockets for carrying essentials.

However, the T2 one-piece does have some drawbacks. The stiffness of the materials, particularly around the zippers, limits the suit’s flexibility. The hood is poorly shaped, and the wrist cuffs lack elasticity. Finally, the additional import fees to Canada are a consideration for buyers.

Despite these flaws, this suit remains a compelling option, especially thanks to its practical features, such as the external belt and neck opening. The extensive customization options are also a significant plus, making this outfit even more versatile and suited to various needs.

I thank EWT for this trial and wish you all a fantastic season on the snow.
