Electrical Goggle CKX 210° test

I had the opportunity to test the CKX 210° goggles with controlled ventilation.

I am a trail person, but sometimes I like to go off the beaten track. To have fun in “backcountry,” last year I tried the Titan Air flow helmet (read…), an ideal helmet for off-trail and warmer weather. How to make this helmet even more versatile? With the electric goggles, I can tell you that it becomes an effective helmet whether it is on or off the trail, regardless of the temperature.

The installation of the goggles is effortless; all you must do is remove your original goggles and install the electric goggles. Glue the wire clip on the side, and you are ready to go. I had to adjust the strap, so it was tighter on the helmet to prevent air from entering. No further adjustments were necessary.

During my first ride with the electric glasses, it was -26 outside, with strong winds. I thought it was an excellent time to test its effectiveness. I went for a ride in the trails. As I left the house, the goggles quickly fogged up, but after a few seconds connected it all came back clear. I can tell you that after 350 km in a Siberian cold, the CKX 210° electric goggles have done the “job.” No fogging and no frostbite on my face. I configured the Titan Air Flow helmet in trail mode by closing all the ventilation traps, to maximize my chances. The goggles are equipped with ventilation traps. I tried the open and closed traps, there is a big difference.

The next day, having access to off-trail snowmobiles, I was able to try the goggles under different conditions. The cold was still present, so I decided to leave the ventilation traps closed, which is not generally recommended during intense activity. Even with the high body heat during physical effort, the CKX electric goggles always remained clear. As soon as I unplugged it, it quickly fogged. The wire can sometimes be a problem during extreme maneuvers, using a portable battery would be ideal.

One point to improve is that when the temperature is warmer, you feel the heat from the electric goggles like many visors. It would be interesting to be able to lower the intensity to be more comfortable.

It is a product that I recommend especially combined with a Titan Air Flow helmet. I want to thank CKX and SledMagazine.com for this test. It is essential for trails and off-trail enthusiasts.
