Grand Prix Ski-Doo de Valcourt: An Event Not to Be Missed

The Grand Prix Ski-Doo de Valcourt (GPSV) is set to take place on February 7, 8, and 9. Since its inaugural event in 1983, this annual gathering has continued to grow and improve despite various challenges. Time and again, the organizers have had to contend with adverse weather conditions, but the GPSV has prevailed year after year. While Valcourt is in the event’s name, the competition is held at a purpose-built site in the neighboring municipality of Maricourt—a fact the mayor proudly reminds us of.

More Races on Friday

The GPSV continues to draw racers from around the globe. This year, the expanded number of races allows for a more packed schedule on Friday, ensuring all competitions can take place. This should be a hit with spectators, as entry is free to the public on Friday.

GPSV: A Family Event Supporting the Next Generation

From its inception, Grand Prix Ski-Doo de Valcourt has positioned itself as a family-oriented event. The organization is committed to encouraging up-and-coming athletes. At the January 16 press conference, several young talents were introduced, sharing how they’re preparing for the GPSV. Competing in front of family and friends adds an extra layer of importance for these athletes.

World Champion Sabrina Blanchet

Sabrina Blanchet, the reigning world champion in her oval track category, is a highlight of this year’s event. At just 27 years old, she has already spent 21 years in the racing world—amazing! Starting at age seven with encouragement from her grandfather, a racer himself, Sabrina will be competing at the GPSV. We wish her the best of luck.

Conclusion

If you’re looking for a fun time with family or friends, the Grand Prix Ski-Doo de Valcourt is the perfect place to watch thrilling snowmobile races on oval tracks at breakneck speeds or watch spectacular jumps on bumpy courses. You’ll also see ATVs and motorcycles racing across the ice. The organizers are expecting at least 30,000 visitors this year. So, join us at the Grand Prix Ski-Doo de Valcourt on February 7, 8, and 9, 2025. It promises to be a captivating spectacle!
