It is not always easy to service our snowmobile today. Since many years, manufacturers priorize weight reduction and mass centralization. While these elements bring extremely significative effects on the riding, the handiness and the fuel efficiency, the flip side of it is the maintenance… The more components are grouped and lowered in the chassis, the more it gets difficult to have access for maintenance or repair.
With the Arctic Cat new chassis of 2012, we could remove the panels and the hood, but it took a long time and it was complicated. Just think about the air box on 4-stroke models, not always easy to put it back… Fortunately, engineers really innovated for 2017 by making this operation very simple on all models equipped with the 998 cc engine and on the ZR 6000 Roger Skime Edition.
The new panels are really easy to remove, only two quick-release clips per panel and it provides total access to clutches on one side, and to the turbo, silencer and chain case on the other side.

The following operation is made easy. We take off the hood as easily, only two clips and a single bundle of wires, which makes the whole powerpack accessible…
Here is a short video filmed in West Yellowstone to show you how easy it is !!
