‘A Common Misconception’ All Trail Side Business’ Support Snowmobiling

This winter when you are snowmobiling near your home or visiting another club’s or Province’s trails you will need at least one of three services, if not all three before the end of your day;  businesses that sell food, fuel and /or accommodations.

You will spend your hard-earned money on each one of these services at some time during the season depending on where and when you ride. And you probably already have your favorite ‘pit stops’ at home or if visiting another trail system will patronize those businesses closest to the trails you ride.

Do you know if the businesses you spend your money at have supported the trail?  In other words, do they have a relationship with the local club volunteers who groomed the trail in to their place of business? Not all do!

The 50 volunteer clubs of the NBFSC do their utmost to work with the thousands of private landowners to ensure that you can snowmobile, on snow, to the services – businesses – that we need when snowmobiling. A trail’s access to food, fuel and to accommodations does not happen easily. This access takes the cooperation of not just the business but more often than not, a multitude of private landowners who allow access to that business. Note, it is the volunteers of the clubs who make all of this access occur, not the Government, not the NBFSC, and not usually the business, it is the work of the local Club.

The majority of businesses do have a relationship with either the local club or the NBFSC or both. They understand that the work of the volunteers supports them and most reciprocate with services the club can utilize or sometimes cash. The money is then instantly used by the club to run the club’s groomer in most cases.

The NBFSC is very well supported by the business community. We have had a Corporate Partnership program for almost two decades now and 2017 was and 2018 will be our largest support ever. We have many partnerships; local, provincial and even National Partners. All of these businesses and their ownership should be supported by every NBFSC Trail Permit holder as often as possible or chosen over and above their competition who are not supportive. It is their partnership that supports us, therefore this supports the Clubs who develop the trails and this supports your riding.

Snowmobile trails need a lot of money to be maintained. We are just asking you to ask the businesses you support, if they are supporting the local snowmobile club?

If they are supportive then thank them…. and tell this business the reason they have your business. All of the businesses who support the club’s and/or support the NBFSC are to be congratulated. All of the businesses who do not support snowmobiling but receive the benefits of a trail and your money to their door need to be reminded.

You support your Club when you purchase your NBFSC Trail Permit. Should not the business that receives your money, support the trail? You give your support, should not they?
