2025 Polaris Patriot Boost RMK Khaos: A Powerful and Fun Mountain Sled

Here we are approaching the mid-season of the 2024-25 winter, and I have about 14 rides on the 2025 Polaris Patriot Boost RMK Khaos 155 so far. Plenty of backcountry rides in the deep snow and mountainous terrain to give you my honest feedback on its handling and performance. So far this season, this sled combination has me smiling ear to ear. Let’s take a closer look at why the 2025 Patriot Boost RMK Khaos has me so excited.

This Sled is Built for Fun!

The 2025 Polaris Patriot Boost RMK Khaos 155 has been an absolute blast to ride. Let me tell you, ladies and gentlemen, this sled is built for fun! The 2025 RMK Khaos has impressed me in so many ways, and if I’m being honest, it was also a bit of a shock. I had a chance to try this exact sled for a handful of rides back in February 2024. These sealed the deal for me to choose this specific configuration for my long-term review this season. I knew the 2025 Patriot Boost RMK Khaos 155 was an amazing and high-performing sled; that’s why I picked it. What I didn’t expect, however, was how much I would be smiling and laughing, or how much fun I would be having riding it! So, let’s look at why this is, so far, my all-time favourite mountain sled from Polaris!

Polaris Patriot Boost Power

I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to do season-long reviews for the last three years on sleds with the Patriot Boost engine. So this powerplant isn’t new to me. This turbo engine has been a great performing engine for someone like me that likes to play on all aspects of the mountain. It also performs extremely well in the higher elevations where I like to ride. From open, flowing, powder meadows, to the steep and technical tree-covered backcountry zones. The Patriot Boost engine has the performance and power to make all aspects of the mountain more fun. I’ve enjoyed riding sleds with the great power of the Patriot Boost engine at high elevations, and this winter is no different.

Power Delivery in a Smooth, Linear, and Controllable Way

The Patriot Boost engine delivers big, but manageable power. It provides a lot of power but delivers it in a very smooth and linear way, so it’s controllable. Let me tell you, from experience, big turbo horsepower isn’t fun when riding in steep, treed terrain if it isn’t predictable and linear. I’m talking about riding the first aftermarket turbos of the 2008 era. Riding in the backcountry is a game of momentum and inches in those conditions. If you can’t predict when the power is going to come on or how the sled will react, you end up bouncing off trees, getting stuck, or worse. That’s why I’m so impressed with Polaris and the power delivery of their Patriot Boost turbo engine. The rider gets a very powerful, but predictable delivery, and that creates a fun and controllable sled, perfect for riding in the mountains.

The Khaos Vs. Pro Chassis Comparison

On a few of the rides this winter, I’ve been able to directly compare a 2024 Pro RMK and 2025 RMK Khaos with essentially the same components. They both have the same Patriot Boost engine, 7S Display, Walker Evans shocks, and the 15 × 155 × 3.25 Series 9 track. OK, you’re right, the Khaos has enhancements over the Pro. It is also 7 lb lighter with some of the latest 2025 sled upgrades. Here are the upgrades that add up to better performance and a 7-pound weight reduction on some of the 2025 mountain models.

Aside from the 2024-to-2025 upgrades and enhancements, the sleds were pretty much the same, except the 2024 is a Pro and the 2025 is a Khaos. It was really fun to have a few days to test both of these sleds in the same terrain and snow conditions on the mountain.

2024 Pro RMK

We had an absolute blast jumping back and forth between both sleds and comparing the two chassis. The 2024 Pro RMK is designed and built for power and precise performance. It’s still a really fun sled to ride, but it’s designed to perform best in the steep and technical, mountainous terrain.

The Pro RMK doesn’t transfer its weight as far back under power. While that may cause it to wheelie less, it makes for very predictable handling. This mountain sled is meant for riders who want the best in precision. It’s designed for those who are focused on hitting technical lines in the trees or doing some bigger climbs.

Now, because it doesn’t wheelie as easily, the front of the sled tends to stay down. This results in a better capacity to climb, in my opinion. The Pro RMK is a sled built for business, being very precise. That’s why it’s the sled a lot of the hill climb racers choose when racing up the mountains.

2025 RMK Khaos

The RMK Khaos, on the other hand, is the wild child of Polaris’ mountain sled line up. In a nutshell, I would describe this machine as… “playful”. Effectively, there is a big difference between the Khaos and Pro when it comes to playfulness. In my opinion, it’s a good thing that these two chassis are so far apart in handling. This allows the rider to choose the type of riding that fits them best.

The RMK Khaos is the Polaris option that wheelies the most. That makes it the best option to do bow ties, hop overs, and reentries. The Khaos wants to play all day long and in all terrain. I really like its playfulness, which is why I chose it as my favourite RMK chassis.

Patriot Boost in an RMK Khaos: What a Killer Combination!

When you combine the powerful and linear powerplant of the Patriot Boost with the very fun and playful handling of the RMK Khaos, that, my friends, is a killer combination. It has all the power that a rider wants in the mountains to perform and climb in the steepest terrain and deepest snow. Then, you combine that with the wheelie-easy and playful characteristics of the RMK Khaos. The game is on for great fun in the mountains. I’ve been having an absolute blast on the 2025 RMK Khaos in the 155 length so far this season, and I look forward to riding in any terrain with this mountain hotrod.

Stay Tuned for More

Let’s continue doing our snow dance and hope “old man winter” keeps sending us the deep snow days to properly test this true mountain sled. Stay tuned for my end-of-season review of the 2025 Patriot Boost RMK Khaos 155! We’ll be talking about the specific upgrades from the 2024 models, how they performed, and my overall thoughts on this sled configuration over the course of a full season. Stay tuned, and I’ll see you in the mountains.
