The Chisago County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with Wild River Snowmobile Club hosted a youth snowmobile safety class Dec. 8. Many faithful club volunteers helped the eager students complete their driving test at Wild Mountain Ski and Recreation Area. Wild Mountain graciously took time to make a special area of snow. This is the second year Wild Mountain has contributed to the success of the class by providing the snow.
The classroom education was held at Lindstrom Fire Hall. The Lindstrom Fire Department provides the training room and truck bay, which made a great location for the kids to have a classroom and hands-on learning experience. Local Conservation Officer Todd Langevin also visited the class. Overall, it was another successful year for new students, who are now educated and ready to be the bright and safe future of snowmobiling. The class was a great example of the community coming together to benefit youth.
