Vintage Snowmobile Show on Grass in Lowville

Some people were still snowmobiling in Lewis County Saturday, just not on the snow.

Vintage sled owners from all over the Northeast brought their old snowmobiles to the Lewis County Fairgrounds for the third annual Tug Hill Vintage Show and Swap. Arctic Cat is the featured sled, but they have everything from Polaris to Moto Ski dating back to the start of popular snowmobiling in the 1960s.  We talked to people about why they are still interested in these old machines.

"We're in our mid 50s now. This is our childhood. We're kind of reminiscing when we went to races and we seen these great racers and the history of snowmobiles. We actually seen these guys," said Scott Stoll, from Sodus.
Stoll was especially interested in Jim Fisher's number 14 Arctic Cat.  It contains an engine built by Everet Regal, a machinist from the Phoenix, New York area.  His team won the 1973 World Cup of snowmobile racing in Wisconsin.
The judging will start Sunday morning. The show ends at noon and everyone is fighting to win a coveted green bowling pin trophy
