As you probably know, Polaris ended their 2015-2016 shopping season by buying Timbersled Products Inc. We can imagine everything for Timbersled future and it already starts in 2016-2017 season with the Timbersled Snow Check that lets you choose the optional features and colors of the track system on your summer toy : your dirt bike.
The least we can say is that this type of vehicle is a strong trend in North America. Effectively, many Terrain Dominator (the Polaris backcountry factory riders) now offer to rent Timbersled machines for your adventure. Chris Burandt has even been seen playing with one of these bikes!
Also, the Timbersled categories have been introduced in different hilldrag categories in the 2016 season.
Many lucky ones can already say that they own a Timbersled and that they explore very technical terrain where only few mountain snowmobile pilots would be able to get. Maybe are you one of them?
One thing is sure though, this sport of snow bike needs to be supervised because we cannot ride on trails with a Timbersled. We must unload our bike directly off trail where we are authorized to ride.
I think that the introduction of the snow bike is a good thing for snowmobile. Effectively, there is no succession. What could be better than this to attract young snowmobilers? On the long term, it could become a very popular sport, but mostly an affordable sport considering that if you already own a dirt bike, you just need to buy the conversion kit. And obviously, Polaris will promote the snow bike!
