The ZR8000 RR 137 2019 – the ultimate snowmobile for power lovers
I hope this article on my short-term test of the Arctic Cat ZR8000 RR 137 2019 will convince you as I was after my test!
First, I want to thank Groupe Motoplex and Guillaume Falardeau from Motoplex Mirabel for this test. They turned my weekend into a dream full of thrills and fun.
This year, Arctic Cat has, in my opinion, made a home run regarding power, smoothness at takeoff, stability, and precision! You have read correctly; this ZR is simply incredible. With the combination of the 160 HP C-TEC2 engine, its team rapid response II primary clutch and its team boss secondary clutch, we have a winning combination.
Lots of torque and power, I can guarantee. I was never disappointed, and I pushed it to its limits. It was always willing to give me more. I was impressed.
Such breathtaking power is nothing if you don’t have the right handling and suspension.
Once again, the cats come in and shoot straight. No swaying thanks to the PROCROSS-6 skis, surgical precision driving thanks to its Arctic Race front suspension (ARS) and SLIDE-ACTION rear suspension.
On this model there are the FOX 1.5 ZERO QS3R Kashima front shock absorbers, the FOX 1.5 ZERO QS3 Kashima central shock absorber, and a FOX 2.0 ZERO QS3R Kashima rear shock absorber, they do an exceptional job. The shock absorbers are easy to use and extremely efficient, no matter what type of trail you are on.
One aspect that I think should be improved is the location of the rear shock absorber settings, especially the center one. Unfortunately, after a few hours of riding, I noticed that ice was forming where the adjustment of the three positions are located. This is not very convenient when you need to make a few quick adjustments.
On the accessories side, this year Arctic Cat revamped their handlebar control to make it easy and user-friendly. The only small point that I think could have been improved is the lighting of the lights and the reversal/starter switch.
On the other hand, there are digital screens that indicate all the needed information on the snowmobile’s condition. A 12v plug is placed next to it as well as an emergency stop switch, new this year.
As an option, I had the Kimpex ROUSKI that was installed on the snowmobile, and that does a great job. I also got the heated visor socket, which is extremely practical but should come as standard.
Finally, the finish, the materials, the assembly, the colors, the side panels, the panel locking system, everything is of the highest quality; nothing has been left out. Moreover, the superb colors of this snowmobile match my outfit!
Are you looking for a snowmobile that will give you great sensations and a limitless smile? Are you the type of rider who likes winding trails and is looking for a snowmobile that offers precision and performance in all RPM ranges? This Arctic Cat ZR8000 RR 137 2019 is for you.
I want to thank Motoplex for this test. For more information, visit their website or on location.
I hope you enjoyed my first article, a father-son article will follow soon! Have a good season.
