Again this year, Tourisme Lanaudière is ready to welcome winter and the thousands of snowmobilers who will come and explore the region’s trails over the next few months. The Regional Tourism Association has orchestrated a $130,000 promotional campaign aimed at audiences both within and outside Quebec, in partnership with its members and Canada Economic Development.
The campaign, promoting the region’s snowmobiling product and its brand image of "Snowmobile Country," is based on 4 key pillars.
Firstly, Tourisme Lanaudière has placed a number of different advertisements in specialty magazines like Motoneige Québec, Supertrax Canada, Gosnowmobiling and Snowgoer.
Also, the region has aimed for greater Web visibility this year through advertising banners and the purchase of keywords in Quebec and outside the province. The main reference point for snowmobile tourism is www.snowmobilecountry.ca, thanks in large part to the site’s interactive trail map, which helps users create their own personalized routes. It also includes snowmobile trail conditions, which are updated regularly, as well as snowmobile packages at establishments in the region.
The Tourisme Lanaudière marketing team, along with some of its members, have maintained an active presence for Lanaudière region by participating in seven snowmobile shows, including four jointly with Mauricie region under the Québec Authentique banner.
Some 90,000 copies of the 2010 – 2011 snowmobile trail map have been printed. The map is available free of charge at tourist lodgings in the region, as well as from companies listed on the map and some regional snowmobile clubs. With its 2,300 km of trails and 10 circuits criss-crossing Lanaudière, the map features many useful services for those making snowmobile tours, be they long or short: restaurants, lodging, gasoline, snowmobile rentals, dealers, tourist attractions, etc.
You can support Lanaudière region by obtaining your access permit (droit de passage) now at an early-bird rate from Lanaudière snowmobile clubs. When snowmobilers obtain their access permits in the region in which they do their snowmobiling, they support the clubs that maintain their trails. You can find the list of registered clubs on the 2010-2011 snowmobile trail map and at www.snowmobilecountry.ca.
Snowmobiling is an important tourism product that generates benefits of 50 million dollars a year through spending of all kinds. This industry has been attracting visitors from outside Quebec for the past 30 years and helps support hundreds of local companies throughout the winter season.
This year, come and enjoy the experience of snowmobiling in Lanaudière and discover why everyone calls our region Snowmobile Country!
