As a snowmobiler, I continuously seek for the best balanced riding of my snowmobile, mostly in matter of steering precision and handiness. As soon as we open the package, we can see the top quality manufacturing of these runners on the joints, the materials used and the coating. It is very easy and quick to install the runners on the Pilot 5.7 skis; we only need to remove the nuts of the original runner and to replace this one with the new runner. With the dual-carbide runners, the snowmobile is slightly higher at front because the runner is not inserted into the ski like a single-carbide runner is.

In matter of performance on trail, there is no possible comparison with the original runner. The dual-carbide runner offers a precise steering with quite better grip. It represents a great advantage to have two 15 cm/6 in. rows of carbide in an angle of 60 °. With this type of runner, we must expect to adjust the snowmobile shocks for the performance we want. Once you find the appropriate calibration for your type of riding, the snowmobile performance on trail is definitely improved. I never felt that the snowmobile would slide sideways in curves. On the contrary, steering was very precise and I felt the snowmobile firmly planted into ground. Also, I did not feel any darting all season long with this combination and this, no matter the trail surface. When I took off the runners at the end of the season, I saw only light wear on the runners, which proves their robustness and the quality of the materials used.
