Testing the Carbide Gloves

Hello ! I am a snowmobiler who likes different types of rides, like aggressive, touring, off-trail, and no matter the weather. I was looking for gloves that would evacuate moisture all while keeping my hands warm.

When I looked at the offers on the market, I found the Carbide gloves made by Motorfist.

I met Mr Syl Marleau, Motorfist Sales Manager for Eastern Canada and I explained to him what kind of gloves I wanted, gloves that would keep my hands dry and warm. With the heated grips, I end up with very moist hands. Mr Marleau showed me two pairs of gloves with eVent membrane that makes gloves waterproof and very breathable, thus quickly moisture wicking.

Rekon Gloves :

  • eVent membrane
  • waterproof and protection against wind
  • 200 g Thinsulate insulation on back of hand and 40 g on palm for better feel of the snowmobile grips and the heat they produce

So, I tested the Carbide gloves in all conditions in order to really check their efficiency.

My analysis

These gloves were very comfortable, supple and stylish.

My hands were warm, not moist. The eVent membrane is really efficient. I had not piloted often with warm and dry hands. It is so enjoyable.

Also, we have excellent control on the grips; we can feel them in our hands.

They have goggle squeegee and they are easy to adjust.

I know they are really waterproof because I had to ride during snow storms. The gloves were moist, but water never penetrated to my skin.

I assure you that the Carbide gloves have met my expectations and made my rides more pleasant. If you want to ride with warm and dry hands, this is a great choice. However, remember that these are gloves, not mittens. So, riding under extreme cold temperatures and without heated grips, your hands will get cold, but since they are really moisture-wicking, your hands will stay warm longer than with usual gloves.
