Nestled in the picturesque village of St. Ferdinand, the Manoir is one of the first chalets to be built on the shores of Lake William in 1906. Since then, this little cottage has evolved and has been transformed into an accredited four-star hotel. Thus became the first of its kind in the Maple area and the 4th in Centre-du-Québec.
From 1956 to 1992, several people have owned the Manor but did not undergo major changes. At that time, the Manoir counted 8 rooms and a welcome destination for our youth.
The year 1992 was a landmark for the Lessard family of St. Ferdinand, who operated a sports store situated across the street from the Manoir. In 1992 the family acquired the property. This was the start of a great adventure for Marcel, Franco, Sylvie and Nathalie. Young and dynamic, they gradually turned it into an important vacation destination for tourists from across the province.
Those who have experienced the beginnings of the Manoir are able to see its evolution over 11 years. By 1993, the Manoir du Lac William has a major transformation. Indeed, phases 1 and 2 of the major project are then engaged. Initially, a basement and a second floor are constructed. Two multi functional rooms are also added to the facility. Subsequently, the eight existing rooms were demolished and rebuilt, and was added new rooms. In 1999, the former sporting goods store operated by the Lessard family is transformed into a pavilion which was built six spacious new rooms. The year also marked changes of all kinds including the fish farm belonging to Marcel Lessard, located on the land adjacent to Manor.
During this period, the Manoir is considered a three star hotel. The number of rooms, then increased to 22, however, still does not meet the needs of the growing clientele.
In 2002, the family consults and moves forward with a new project: the Manoir adds 13 superior rooms and a health center. These additions allows them to become a four star hotel, sucessively, obtains accreditation for «Spas Relais Santé» and «Hotellerie Champêtre» quality guarantees to customers.
Since 2002, the Manoir has won numerous awards. The quality of its service and its infrastructure has earned them the title of lauriat régional eight times in the Grand Prix du Tourisme Québécois and in 2005 was awarded the title of National Winner.
