Snowmobilers Can Now Purchase Snopass with Insurance

Snowmobilers in Manitoba will now be able to purchase their annual Snopass at the same time they pay for their regular insurance policy and registration.

Manitoba Public Insurance made the announcement Monday, partnering with Snoman (Snowmobilers of Manitoba) Inc. and the Insurance Brokers Association of Manitoba to make it more convenient for recreational wintertime riders.

Customers who have renewal dates falling outside the snowmobile riding season, will also be able to defer their payments to December 1.

The cost of a Snopass can be added to the rider’s monthly financing agreement and it will be part of their instalments during the riding season.

A Snopass is $125 annually or can also be purchased on a temporary seven-day basis for $60.50.

In order to legally travel on Snoman’s groomed snowmobile trails, snowmobilers require a valid Snopass. Snowmobilers who do not have a Snopass while riding on a Snoman trail will receive a ticket of over $400. Enforcement will be carried out by Natural Resource Officers and the RCMP.

A new Snoman Trail Voucher is also available, making it the perfect Christmas gift for any snowmobiler. A voucher can be purchased for $125 and gifted to another rider, which can be redeemed at any MPI or Autopac agent location in Manitoba until April 1, 2011.
