SNOWMOBILE RACING: Area drivers compete in weekend events

Lakes area drivers made the finals last weekend in the ISOC National Snocross at the Black Jack Ski Hill in Ironwood, Mich.

Evan Daudt of Longville was first in the Junior 14-15 final and fourth in the Junior 16-17 final on his Polaris.

Tyler Daudt, also of Longville and also on a Polaris, was sixth in the Junior 14-15 class.

Mike Schultz of Pillager was second in the Pro-Am plus-30 class on his Ski-Doo.

Brandon Herheim of Hackensack was 10th in the Sport No. 1 final on an Arctic Cat.

Dan Ebert and Cody Thomsen each missed out of the top 10 in pro categories by one spot. Ebert was 11th in the Pro final Saturday and Thomsen was 11th Sunday. Both ride Arctic Cats.

The next ISOC national event is Jan. 6-8 at Shakopee.

Friday at Ironwood in the ISOC Regional, local placers included Evan Daudt, first in Junior 16-17; Tyler Daudt, second in Junior 14-15 and seventh in 16-17; Cody Daudt of Remer, third in Junior 14-15 and ninth in 16-17 on a Ski-Doo; and Brandon Herheim, fourth in Sport class.

The Daudts are the points leaders in two classes after two rounds of competition. Evan is No. 1 in Junior 16-17 and fourth in Sport class, Cody is No. 1 in Junior 14-15 and second in Junior 16-17 and Tyler is No. 2 in Junior 14-15 and fifth in Junior 16-17.

The next regional event is this weekend at ERX Racepark in Elk River.
