Fellow snowmobilers,
Since many years now, I enjoy the products manufactured by SCM-GL inc., property of Mr Ghislain Lachance. This company located in Beauce produces the Snowtracker, an equipment that reduces darting and provides safer rides on trails under any conditions. Mr Lachance also owns the patent for the Wheeltracker hydraulic wheels system and the Everlaster self-sharpening carbide runners.
TESTING THE SNOWTRACKER
Last season, I installed the new Snowtracker aggressive kit. This new snowmobile steering stabilizer gave me more precision when I was piloting more aggressively. I really noticed that there was no darting anymore in all trail conditions. You should note that to take the most out of this aggressive kit, I had to adjust the front shock pressure and the rear suspension (Yamaha 2011). This way, the handling was greatly improved even on icy trails. Due to the aggressive design, the steering becomes very precise on icy surface. Then, we must reduce pressure on skis and adjust the weight transfer of the snowmobile with the rear suspension.
This aggressive kit is designed for snowmobilers who like more sporty riding. The steering becomes much more precise and it gets even better if your sled is equipped with power steering. If not, you may feel some heaviness in the steering that could bring you more fatigue on a longer ride.
I had already tested the semi-aggressive Snowtracker kit; so I really saw the difference. The semi-aggressive model is perfect for touring. It does not require any rear suspension adjustment.
I am convinced that this equipement provides a safer riding not only for the snowmobilers who use it, but also for those they run across. If you get off your side of the trail as you meet another machine, you can quickly correct your course.
Finally, I would recommend that you install the Snowtracker only when trails are open in order to avoid damaging it on big rocks and reducing their efficiency for the season.
I wish you nice and safe rides.
I will be pleased to meet you on trails.
