Just one week after their debut appearance in the popular resort town of Lake George, NY, teams from East Coast Snocross (ECS) will gear up for a trip north of the border.
On Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 2-3, the bustling village of Louiseville, Quebec, will roar to life with the sounds of snocross in Round 2 of the 2013 Triple Crown Series. Teams from Quebec-based SCM will host their U.S. counterparts in the International Snocross, presented by Loutec and the City of Louiseville.
Spectator gates open at 9 a.m. each day. Admission is $20 per day for adults; children age 12 and under will be admitted free with a paying adult. The track is located on Avenue Deveault and is easy to access.
Respected Quebec businessman Jerome Gerber is our gracious host and event promoter.
Along with Round 2 qualifying in the prestigious Triple Crown series, the weekend will include championship point races for all SCM and ECS riders in the Pro, Pro Lite, Sport, Junior and Women divisions.
The event will also feature high-flying excitement from the popular Trep Freestyle team.
Leading the charge into Louiseville are Pro riders Danny Poirier and Corin Todd. Both are teammates on the Bailey/Hulten Polaris squad, and both have tasted success already this season. Todd won two finals and the first round of qualifying for the Triple Crown, while Poirier has also won finals and been on the podium steadily.
Other riders to watch as the ECS teams take on the SCM regulars on their home turf include Lincoln Lemieux, Derek Ellis, Chris Ackerman and Michael George. Lemieux has already won a final this season; Ellis finished second in national Pro Lite points last winter and has already been on the podium this season; Ackerman is a solid veteran and George returns to ECS competition riding the No. 14 Damexco Racing Ski-doo for Luc Brunelle.
From the SCM ranks, Pro riders to watch as they defend their home turf in Louiseville include Dave Asselin, Jean-Sebastien Cote, Francois Pare and Maxime Taillefer. Asselin and Cote are two of Canada’s fastest athletes; while Pare and Taillefer are also proven multi-time winners in snocross competition. (more)

The town of Louiseville is located in the Mauricie region of Quebec, about half way between Montreal and Quebec City on the western shores of the St. Lawrence Seaway. The town offers plenty of lodging, dining and shopping choices for its 7,500 natives and many annual visitors. A visit to Louiseville will create memories that last a lifetime.
East Coast Snocross, presented by AMSOIL and Woody’s Traction, is the eastern affiliate of International Series of Champions (ISOC), the national sanctioning body for snocross. ECS strives to maintain a regional circuit intended to keep grass-roots snocross racing healthy in this part of the Snowbelt while also cultivating new talent for tomorrow’s factory-backed Pro teams.
