Renegade X E-TEC 800R : pre-ride analysis

Hello, dear readers.

While a snow storm is announced for tomorrow, I am pleased to tell you about my new crossover snowmobile. I have been snowmobiling since over 40 years now and many times, I have been riding a machine of 600 cc and over, but never during a whole season. It seems that as years go by, I am getting younger and I decided this year to be adventurous. So, I chose a 800 cc sled to see if there is a big difference with the 600 cc and if so, how much different is it.

Crush

When the snowmobile I had picked was ready, Mr Yves Constantineau, owner of F. Constantineau & Fils in Mont-Laurier, told me that the model I had chosen made this snowmobile quite stylish.  It was now time to see it by myself.  Right at first sight, I had a crush for this stylish red/black/white beast.  I have also been amazed by the design and I am sure that the 800 engine will enhance my snowmobile experience this winter.

I do not wish to get into details for the moment.  In my articles to be published this season, I will compare the innovations of the 2014 model with the 2013 model.  I will also talk about the difference, if any, between riding a 600 cc and a 800 cc sled.  I can’t wait to do so in the next weeks.

Special thanks to Yves and Simon Constantineau, owners of F.Constantineau & Fils in Mont-Laurier, and to BRP who let me ride one of their products all season long.

Dear readers, I invite you to follow my tests of this model on SledMagazine.com all season long.

Be careful on trails this winter.
