TogglePre-Ride Analysis – Ski-Doo Enduro 600R 2019
It’s my 17th season testing BRP Ski-Doo snowmobiles. I am lucky enough to have a new snowmobile every year. This gives me the opportunity to write my comments on the handling and performance of the snowmobile on the trail.
What is interesting about having a hybrid snowmobile model, like the Renegade, is to diversify the content of my reviews by incorporating the off-trail portion. I know I can’t talk about the off-trail as if I had a model designed only for this type of activity.
What is a pre-ride analysis?
To fully understand the purpose of a pre-ride analysis, it is when we receive our snowmobile, we check everything about it.
Then, to give my first impressions, there are three aspects I look at style, design, and features. With my experience, I have been able to see the evolution of snowmobiling over the past 17 years, which is an advantage when I try it out on the trail.
For this reason, my impressions of the pre-ride analysis are mainly based on what the manufacturers are presenting, but, of course, my experience gained over the past few years.
First impression
At first sight, this snowmobile looks like a well-designed model with good quality materials. A 137 track gives its owner the advantage of being able to get out of the beaten track, but, of course, in the places where it’s allowed.
.
Suspension
All the elements are in place to give maximum comfort to the driver. The quality is of the highest standard both in terms of shock absorbers and suspension. Don’t forget the adjustable Air Ride shock absorber, which I think is a plus for this snowmobile. Those shock absorbers will make it easier to handle on trails and especially in bumps.
The track
The 15 x137x1.25” Ice riper XT track is a derivation of the RipSaw and gives its driver the possibility to ride in the deep snow. The addition of carbide studs will provide better stability on icy surfaces.
Rev4 platform
The platform has already proven its efficiency in the past. All the equipment on this platform gives it a robust look and will not be afraid to face any trail conditions.
The heated seat, rear and front compartment, aluminum handlebars with a J-hook, tachometer and all the adjustments that are easily accessible to the driver make this snowmobile an excellent choice for trail enthusiasts.
Power
Another plus for this snowmobile is the new 600R E-TEC engine with 125 HP; it has 5 more horsepower than its predecessor the 600 E-TEC. Note that the 600R is the little brother of the 850 E-TEC launched in 2017.
Be sure that if the 600R gives the performance that the manufacturer mentions, 30% more acceleration than the old 600, it will be enjoyable for its driver. Plasma-coated monoblock cylinders are used to give the engine exceptional longevity. The precision of the E-TEC injection provides better fuel and oil economy. Regarding the smell and smoke, it’s practically non-existent. This is an example of an engine that meets environmental standards.
Other Equipment
There is other equipment that I didn’t mention, like the heated seat, skis, adjustable windshield. After the trail tests, I will be able to tell you if the addition of this equipment is a plus for the user.
Closing
I sincerely believe after my first visual analysis and experience that new purchasers of this model will not be disappointed. What’s interesting is that I’ve already driven the 850 E-TEC for two seasons on the same model, but with fewer features and accessories.
I look forward to seeing the difference so that we can make the comparison and give our readers a good analysis so that they can make the right choice when they make their next purchases.
It’s now up to you to follow us this season and read us. Then, you will be able to tell if this high-quality snowmobile meets all of your expectations.
I want to thank Groupe Contant for giving the opportunity to test this model over the season.
